The answer is NO!!! No GOLD, no WEAPONS, no HEROS, no SKILLS, no PETS, no CHARACTERS.
You WILL be able to reserve your GW1 Characters' NAMES in GW2. And things you accomplish (titles) in GW1 will give you access to things in GW2. All that is done through your Hero's monument thingie that you build (or however you get it) in GW:EN

Didn't know that about the names Kook.... So you can reserve your characters current names for your new characters? Or do the names just show up in the Hall of Monuments thingy, but you still need to think up new names for the new characters?
Sorry, it's just this is the first time I've heard about reserving names, and it greatly interests me as I like the names my characters have and would love to keep them for GW2.

They have CONFIRMED that you can take titles AND WEAPONS over to GW2. I think I have also have heard about mini pets being transferrable.

When gw2 turn up, and if you pick it up, merge your old and new account (not sure about this bit). Make a new character, at some point you will get "blade from great grandpa". Same goes for the titles i think, "my great grandpa was a hero".

Now, if you can find ANY statement from A-Net staff saying that you will definitely be able to transfer items from GW1 to GW2, please post a link. (In other words: Before telling someone they don't know what they're talking about, you better be ready to put up or shut up.)

Ok, so anet stated that you can take some of your achievements with you as well as character names to GW2. The fact is that GW2 is still a long way from being released and everything anet says at the moment even if they really mean it is subject to change (although i'd be surprised is they drastically changed anything they previously said) in the few years it will take to make GW2.
