Nothing will transfer between GW and GW2. The only connection will be through unspecified benefits received from titles recorded in your Hall of Monuments.

The answer is NO!!! No GOLD, no WEAPONS, no HEROS, no SKILLS, no PETS, no CHARACTERS.

You WILL be able to reserve your GW1 Characters' NAMES in GW2. And things you accomplish (titles) in GW1 will give you access to things in GW2. All that is done through your Hero's monument thingie that you build (or however you get it) in GW:EN

Didn't know that about the names Kook.... So you can reserve your characters current names for your new characters? Or do the names just show up in the Hall of Monuments thingy, but you still need to think up new names for the new characters?

Sorry, it's just this is the first time I've heard about reserving names, and it greatly interests me as I like the names my characters have and would love to keep them for GW2.

This, quite honestly, is incorrect. Please do your research before answering a post you know nothing about.

They have CONFIRMED that you can take titles AND WEAPONS over to GW2. I think I have also have heard about mini pets being transferrable.

Well, you are half-way right. Those titles and weapons as such are unlockable in GW1:GWEN chapter and will be usable in GW2, but those titles and weapons will not be usable in GW1. So basically you can't tranfer your fellblade to gw2, but you can unlock "blade for my great grand kid" in gw1.

When gw2 turn up, and if you pick it up, merge your old and new account (not sure about this bit). Make a new character, at some point you will get "blade from great grandpa". Same goes for the titles i think, "my great grandpa was a hero".

If by "confirmed" you mean "wishful thinking"...

This is just a nice way of saying Stargazer is dead wrong. Which you are, dead wrong...

Apparently, you're method of "research" is different from mine. The hall of monuments is going to be set up for ACHIEVEMENTS of GW1 Characters. Not weapons, gold, armor, or whatever. If you pay close attention when reading the Official announcement (along with the above link) for GW:EN you'll see that these accomplishments will give you access to GW2 content that you can't get any other way.

Now, if you can find ANY statement from A-Net staff saying that you will definitely be able to transfer items from GW1 to GW2, please post a link. (In other words: Before telling someone they don't know what they're talking about, you better be ready to put up or shut up.)

Ok, so anet stated that you can take some of your achievements with you as well as character names to GW2. The fact is that GW2 is still a long way from being released and everything anet says at the moment even if they really mean it is subject to change (although i'd be surprised is they drastically changed anything they previously said) in the few years it will take to make GW2.

why does it matter anyways? Those of you with impatience are the only ones asking ZOMG GILD W4RZ TEW! WUT ABUT IT!? Noone knows, everything is just speculation. For those that are still in doubt, please read the PC Gamer article. Kthx
