hello everybody,

I bought a new videocard today because my old one got fried. Since then i have been using the intergrated videocard on my motherboard, which is kinda bad ofcourse. But when I try to install my new Aeolus 6800 extreme it does not want to work.
When I plug the card in, my PC does not give an image on my monitor, and if the card is not plugged in it does not want to install the drivers. So my quesiton is, how do I get my PC to ''accept'' my new videocard so I can use it properly? I've been guessing that it has something to do with the AGP settings in BIOS, but which ones exactly?

also, the manual says I have to uninstall my old videocard drivers, but all i can find in my software list is Intel(r) extreme graphics driver, do I have to uninstall this? it says it may imbalance my system.

Many thanks, DvM

If your motherboard comes with onboard Video, you will most likely have to go in your BIOS and disable that. Check your manual for refference.

I would then try reinstalling the video card, at which point you should get your image back.

By uninstalling your video card, your manual most likely means going to your Device Manager in the Control Panel and then going to the the Display Adapters, selecting your videoc card and pressing the Remove icon at the top. I would not do this until you get your other working if its onboard.
