Shouldn't that skill have waited until GWEN came out so it could be used as a normal one? I mean necros get minions which do the same thing. Els and monks can heal every time they cast a spell. It'd probably have to have a reduced heal, but it'd still be a better normal skill IMO.

Vamprism is ok, it could've been a normal skill but compared to the PVE skills of some of the other professions its goddamn awful.

If anything, Vampirism does have more usefullness than you would think. You have a spirit like Bloodsong without any investment in Channeling.
For example, this is going to be a great replacement for Shadowsong in my rit lord build. My rit lord is 16 spawning, 13 communing.

Ironic.
Anyways, i like the skill, simply beacause, for my mesmer it's a great source of healing when i have draw spirit on me. I can afford to go hex support, and have a decent spirit without having to invest in ritualist attributes.
I got the feeling that this skill was moreso designed for other professions to take advantage of the ability to summon Spirits. Also it's a decent utility (a combo ive used is Angushed was Lingwah [or however you spell it
]. Soul Twisting, bloodsong and then vampirism, its a nearly unlimited source of health).EDIT: Tested Vampirism on my mesmer, the life stolen from each attack goes to both the caster and the spirit, so it keeps itself and the caster alive.
