Reduce rank1 Kurzick/Luxon title requirement to 10K Factions
darkknightkain
Even storywise, 10K faction is all that's needed to "gain their trust" and progress in story.
How about make just the rank1 of the Kurzick/Luxon title sit right at this 10K mark?
The rest of the ranks can be left untouched.

Well, the SS and LB skills arn't that hard to get, the rank needs to be lowered. I thought anet liked to concentrate on casual gamers?
I'd consider myself a casual gamer yet I have rank 9 SS and rank 5 LB. With the new blessings though it might be easier to get the titles.

-10 points for saying factions. Plural of faction in this case is faction.

I easily got the needed level 1 for kurzick in less than 2 weeks of casual ABing and/or being a lazy doorman in FFF.

They already made it easier, also here's the problem with your idea. You want R1 to be 10k, but leave the other ranks. But the effectiveness of these skills depend on your rank in alliance battle.
Soo basically with your idea we'd have the ability to get the skills at an insanely early stage... but you couldn't wield them to any real use. It's like getting meteor shower in pre-seering, great skill but when you're lvl 6 with 5-7 points or less in fire magic...its just useless.
I dont think its too hard to get R1 now, especially with buffs from the shrines. This title as far as i am concerned got given huge fluffy pink kids gloves. I have 670k luxon donated, which my alliance DIDNT need, and NOW you can get jade and STILL get points for title, so I kinda missed out on 670 jadeite shards.

Give them an inch and they want a foot, much more than that and you don't have a leg to stand on
I love that more tiers have been added to make it easier/more rewarding so don't you think you should wait awhile just out of poileness before asking to make the title worthless?
As you said yourself you have to collect 10k for a quest . . . so you deserve a title for one quest???
I think that says it best

All the bots and people looking for money for nothing and titles for free i have to ask
Does anyone PLAY this game?

Account based title. Easy yo add title points when any character helps all characters.

People want to play the game to have fun, not spend 6 months as a full-time job to get a single skill to usable level.
Is it any wonder that so many people dislike the game that advertised: "skill, not time played"?
Is any of those still left? Because right now, GW is one of worst grindfests there is, with some titles taking well over a year of full-time play to max. And these titles aren't optional, they severly affect gameplay.

just accept this game is all about grind already.
MithranArkanere
They are not sunspear points. You get points for each single enemy over level 20 killed one you get the title.
Just by cleaning one area, you get 2k..5k.
Even more if you do repeatable quets at the same time.
And you can get much more if you make alliance battles and competitive missions.
(Jade Quarry should ahve a bonus so people go there)

hey gw is not grind based but allows grinding, for more options.
you dont NEED the skills so you dont NEED to grind, you just choose to. i mean you got along well enough before without them didnt you.

This game hasn't gotten the nickname of Grind Wars for nothing. If you really wanted to play a game where skill was more important than time spent, you're about a year and a half late.

I'm not sure that reducing the first title would help... but I do think the title should be easier to get.
I really don't see why everyone wants the title to stay exactly as it is. Sunspear and Lightbringer are now pretty easy to max. It just takes a few days of farming. Even with the Blessings, it still takes AGES to progress on this title. As someone said, you get like 2-5k for vanquishing an area. I don't really consider that much. Especially if you think about the time involved.

OT: While it does make sense story-wise, I think you should have to put in at least a little bit of work to earn these titles. FFFFTW!

The Mesmer skill is pretty wicked as well, at higher levels. Imagine 7+ health degen (the stats for the skills are only listed for rank 0 to rank 10, right? that means you could have more than 7 degen if at max rank) to a bunch of foes...
These skills aren't NEEDED. They just greatly tilt the balance in favor of those that have them. I'm kind of disappointed with the ranger Factions skill, myself... But I suppose it could be very useful with Kindle Arrow.

And the mesmer one? 7+ health degen? SF does that and kills things. Virulence gives 8 degen, 4 of which spreads to nearly all enemies and weakness to stop them pounding your face in.
They are nice to have, and if you got the title then play around with them. But if you don't, it's not like you need to spend the next few months farming up like 10 mil faction.

Comparisons with SS and LB aren't really valid, those two title tracks are character and not account based, as the kurzick/luxon title is.
In addition you now get faction for killing anything while under a blessing in Cantha next to the quests, repeatable quests, alliance battles and aspendwood etc.
As for the above comment of spending 6 months as a full time job getting the first tier, are you sure you're playing the same game as the rest of us?
