XP cap?

Hello all. Today i was playing with my lvl 15 ranger in elona when i came across an interesting question. Is there an XP cap per kill in gw? The reason i ask this is because i dont believe i was getting the full xp per kill that i should have. Maybe my math is wrong but im not sure. Ok here goes.


i was a Lvl 15 ranger killing lvl 20 bugs outside the sunspear sanctuary. Normal xp i was getting was 23 xp per lvl 20 kill. Now i went and grabbed the double xp from the wandering priest, so that brought it up to 46xp per kill. Then i threw on a lightbringer scroll which adds triple xp to the group. So, if this is right it should be 23x3 = 69 x 2 = 138xp per kill. Or the other way same answer 23x2 = 46. 46x3 = 138 xp per kill. Whichever way it works i was only getting 80xp per kill. That is FAR below 138. If anyone can help me out and explain this to me it would be great. I am just stumped. Thanks

The total resulting multiplicator can not be larger than 7. Therefore, the maximum amount of XP a player can gain from killing a single monster is 280XP * 7 = 1960 XP

Also, 7x is just for bosses. It's max 3.5x for regular enemies.
So, 23x3.5=80.5, rounded down to 80xp.

I am so happy there are people that keep track of these things for us. Then when a guildie asks me these type of questions, I rattle off the answer like I actually figured it out myself.

Although I would've sworn I got over 100+ XP per kill while farming...

Well, I was just trying to explain the OP's example, not implying that 80XP is the overall maximum. The maximum you could get per kill (soloing an enemy 11 levels higher than you, with max multiplier) would be 1960 for a boss (as you stated earlier) and 980 for a non-boss.
