--Note: We are closed for the recruitment of PvE'ers. We are only accepting applications for PvP'ers and Core PvP'ers at this time--
You may have seen that I have posted in the PvP section as well. I am posting here because our guild also provides PvE'ers the opportunity to learn and play PvP with other PvP and PvE players. I understand how hard it is to find a decent group that is willing to help PvE'ers play PvP and I also understand that PvE'ers may not want to be commited to playing PvP regularly.
In addition, we are also partially a PvE guild (me being a farmer and all) and I respect those who just want to spend their time PvE'ing.
If you seem intrested please read on.
Quick Facts:
-Favorable Winds [Gust] Is a new guild aimed at at a relaxed form of both PvP and PvE.
-Favorable Winds [Gust] offers PvE players a chance to learn about PvP in Guildwars and offers them a chance to play Unrated GvG, HA, TA, and regular GvG (if deemed worthy).
-We are not PvP Elitists and will NOT accept them into the guild.
-Our members are mostly from U.S. timezones
-We do use vent and ask that those applying are willing to use it.
Below is our guild statement that will tell you (more in-depth) about our guild.
[note: took this from our guild statement in our forums]
Favorable Winds [Gust] was founded by Tsunami Rain (myself) with the intention of providing PvE players a chance to learn the basics of PvP while still being able to play on their own time without restrictions that most other PvP guilds have (ex. required weekly GvG's, staying active, playing with others, etc).
Favorable Winds is a very relaxed guild as was intended when it was first formed. By relaxed I mean I understand that Guildwars is only a game and that other things in life comes first.
As some of you may know I have created in-depth monk farming guides for all three chapters of Guildwars along with a special hard-mode update. Some considered me as a pioneer in the farming community. Recently I have taken a break from farming and PvE and have been refocusing myself on PvP.
As a PvE'er in a PvP community, I rarely get the chance to play with top-notch guilds and teams as I have no rank and any real status in PvP. I feel that PvE'ers should have a chance to play rated GvG and play with successful HA teams. None of this required rank stuff.
Many PvP'ers believe that if you PvE you surely can't PvP. These are the PvP eliteists who won't give people a shot at PvPing. Hence many newer folks are turned off by PvP and return/go into the PvE community.
When I created Favorable Winds my major goal was to give PvE'ers a chance at PvP. To achieve this, I require experienced PvP players that know the meta-game and are willing to devote their time to help others get into PvP and explain the basics.
This "Core" PvP team as I call it will be made up of experienced PvP players that want to run GvG and HA. In additon to this core group, I ask that the core group and other PvP'ers that may join must also be willing to help others learn more about the meta-game and what it takes to PvP and help lead less experienced teams of PvE'ers into unrated GvG, HA, and TA to help improve their skills as well. (note: rated GvG will be strictly for the more experienced members of the guild and those we see fit).
Basically this core team would be made up of PvP'ers that don't mind playing with and helping PvE'ers learn PvP.
As I mentioned earlier, Favorable Winds is a very relaxed guild. There are no weekly GvG's as I understand that people have obligations but rather posts on our froums to see when a good time for a GvG is for that week. HA groups may form at random and that is fine with me as people can just take a team and go.
Being a relaxed guild, we do not force the PvE'ers in our guild to PvP nor do we force them to join groups that are going down to FoW and what not. As a farmer I understand the enjoyment that some people have of playing alone for long extended times and I respect that (the same goes with those who like to RA). As long as the person shows face and shows that they are worth the spot in the guild I am completely fine with their choice of solitude (aka try not to ignore others when spoken to).
Also, being a relaxed guild, I wont force those who PvP to tend to the needs of the PvE'ers who want to learn how to PvP as I know that this can be frustrating at times. I just ask that you keep your cool and maybe lend a helping hand every now and then (even if it is to just answer a simple few questions). If you are there to just PvP and you want to have nothing to deal with teaching PvE'ers I respect that as well but I just ask that you not look down upon those who are trying their best to learn.

If you are a PvE'er who would like to join Favorable Winds I ask that you read the sticky and post your application on our forums located here:
