retibution farming FoW
sethyp
Hey people, this is my build for farming the beach in FoW, using w/mo:
Skills: Retribution, Holy wrath, healing signet, riposte, lions comfort, sprint, *edit* whirlwind attack, auspicious parry.
attribute points: 7 smiting, 11 sword, 13 tactics, 10 strength.
Equipment: decent sword (max damage) (furious hilt is useful, +30hp mod), max shield (+health whilst enchanted or +30 health (preferably both)), max armor (again your preference – I use knights: I know it reduces damage taken {and therefore damage given out} but it’s effective and doesn’t hinder my build in any way)
Runes: I use a superior vigor and superior swordsman ship, with minor tactics and strength and finally a rune of vitae.
When you engage a group of enemies use auspicious parry as soon as possible to gain adrenaline - then simply cycle riposte and lions comfort until they are down, use auspicious parry to keep up adrenaline constantly.
The route I take:
Attacking driftwoods you should have both enchantments up, and cycle lots of ripostes with the occasional lions comfort. –they should drop pretty fast.
PROS
- Its quicker than using FoW W/Me build and just as easy
CONS
- Still cant kill ancient skale (but they are easier to survive)
- Strip enchantment spells (dryders and skale), these spells are an obvious nuisance but otherwise perfectly survivable.
Alterations?: I personally can’t find a more effective way to use this build- taking signets is pointless as they spend most of the time recharging.
NB: this build works in Old Ascalon (sardelac sanitarium) and outside Ice tooth caves in hard mode too.
Cheers all- arch (sethyp)

Elkodust
Wow, gj. You have taken this pretty far.
Fishmonger
I haven't got to try this yet but it looks very safe, easy, and fun! I might try to port this over to rit =D
deluxe
You say it's quicker than the w/me version, but you dont even kill the spiders... thats where the actual run begins for me.
(not that i ever do spidercave anymore, i usually do w/d with hero bonder to kill all shadows, skeletons, forest and forgemaster's castle.)

y bring riposte if it doesnt hurt the spiders y not bring another attack skill or a cover enchantment
EDIT:Ignore my cover enchant idea it wont work as of u will have no energy

Dr Imperial
you could bring balthz spirit and switch the build around with some skills that use energy.

riposte is great for killing the driftwoods, very fast and doesnt interupt general attacking. i asure you if you simply stand and heal the spiders will kill themselves very quickly. theres no need for another attack skill as one teames with auspicious parry is enough to almost continuously use it.

i just choose not to kill the spiders - as i said its perfectly possible/easy. i useualy run in get a shard or 2 then stop- saves time and earns money. and yes it is quicker than w/me version which i used to use but found dull.
cheers for comments so far all ArKaiN

-1 energy degen on a 20 energy pool= really bad for sustained enchantments that leave at 0 energy
Across The Battle
Although a lot more challenging, the old W/Mo Build for FoW spiders with healing hands and such was very good and incredibly quick. Its on the thread there somewhere, I dont know where though
Solus Spartan
Nice guide

How many spiders can you take on at once?

im assuming its not to many because of they way the build works it relies on taking dmg to deal dmg so u cant take to much dmg
ArKaiN
I don't get it. Tried it on insects outside yohlon haven and got raped almost instantly.
I just set the enchantments, auspicious parry as soon as i can(and every time it recharges), beat something up and mash lion's comfort+parry, correct? The AFK Monk
Very nice guide, but why not Whirlwind Attack instead of Standing Slash?
Enfrantelyn Nightcrawler
can it kill the spiders????
Tempo
does anyone have a second to show me how this run goes? or at least give me a full map plz? i kno that u cant see FoW on the big map, but u could maximize ur mini map or something?

actualy if you make sure your always atacking- so you have adreneline- and that you use keys for skills rather than clicking (i keep my fingers on auspicous parry and lions comfort and keep clicking so that they both cast asap) you can tank them all

yeah sorry, considering the massive amount of FoW beach/cave farms out there i decided not to go into too much depth over the route. for a complete map search for FoW beach farms. Witte probably has a map of it some where.
-arch Dogma Blutlust

RainwalkerC

Use Sprint...Don't do this in HM. Hug the wall. Wait for patrols.
That's all. If you've been in FoW once or twice you shouldn't even need a map to this place... Kite874

anyone know if this old build of mine is still viable? havnt played for a while but thinking of coming back and im not sure whats the norm now.
Marty Silverblade
Afaik the only things that have changed on your bar are LC and HS. HS is more powerful, and LC has been changed so that instead of a big +(health per tactics rank) you get some adr instead. Don't know if the healing works out, or if any monster skills make the run impossible. Afaik people still do it, at least they talk about it in Racthoh's thread.
Btw, prices of everything have pretty much dropped so shards won't get you much of an impressive profit. Try something else (read the farming forum). Hanging Man
nice build
lil out-dated but still a viable option looks safe, which is what I prefer to look at for builds. |
