This idea sprang into my head the other day.
I've seen this idea a few times before, and I think it's good enough to be brought back into attention.
It could be a cool thing to allow players to pick an age for your character. Perhaps a general age, not really a specific one.
An example could be this:
1. Teenager (14-17)
2. Young Adult (18-21)
3. Adult (GW Characters now; Early to mid 20s)
4. Mature Adult (30s)
5. Middle Age (45-60?)
Because Guild Wars has many different age demographics, something like this could definitely appeal to the playerbase. Popular MMOs such Guild Wars and World of Warcraft don't allow you to really choose your age. Sure, maybe that Assassin in the corner looks younger or that Paragon with a beard looks older, but it really isn't officialy recognized by the game. Not that it should have more than aesthetic effects, but It would be cool to see more diversity.
People want more customization. I say give it to them. This looks like something that could more easily be integrated into Guild Wars 2. I'll post a link to this thread on the suggestions thread.
Ability to play as a different age

yea this would be cool, but since GW:EN is for existing chars i think this will have to wait till GW2.

Well, I suggested that we have a far more 'Sims'-like customization for GW2. That way we can add a bit more individuality to our characters. It can be through Face, weight, and as you've now suggested, age. I think that would be great. I think you have a few too many ages in there though. It just seems it should be limited to teenager, adult and elderly. It would just get too complicated having to program that many feature changes.

Most professions have different faces, which are kinda a different age. I remember making a ranger that looked like it was 60 years old and then this dude in pre-searing told me he had a son my age lol.
Exept for the females, who all look like 21 year old super models. But I don't really feel the need to play a 50 year old lady tbh.

If there were ages you'd never see any of the old women running about. Female players wish they had the body of their char (just like, IMHE, they want less hips/bigger/smaller boobs.) and you would play as the younger females. The men would always play as younger women, well who needs a reason for that.
But yes, in GW2, I'd love this.
