Mallyx the Unyielding Quests - Not Ritualist Friendly
DeGaul
My ritualist is my first char that finish NF. After getting Razah, I took the Mallyx quests and went to Gate of Anguished. I call out "Rit LFG" and after a few minutes of no invite, I force myself on to people calling "starting group".
All the time no one accepting my invite.
After over 30 minutes, finally one group accepted me. Once in a group, two members of the group ask what's a ritualist doing in the group. The leader didn't reply. After almost another 30 minutes of calling needing SB and HB monk, the group broke out.
So I said, heck with it, I'll do it with heroes and hench.
BUT THERE WAS NO HENCH AROUND!
On these series of quests, people are looking for trappers, SF elementalist, HB-SB monks, battery necro and melee. No room for ritualist.
Since there are no hench around, and heroes are not enough, how can a ritualist finished these series of Mallyx quests?
So Im pissed that these quests have become so ritualist unfriendly.

If you're tenacious, you can convince people to let you in as a splinter barrager to replace a SF ele. You don't have convert hexes, but bring resilient weapon and it doesn't matter anyway.

Unfortunately, DoA is geared toward only certain classes. That isn't to say its not possible to do it with the other classes; only that it is much less efficient to do so. My rit has long ago given up on DoA. The farming there really isn't worth the time and effort imo.
ANTICANCER
there is a build for rit to take place as one of the SF nukers just like there is for necro.

the rit must be able to tank...
...
...
Y.T.
u can run channeling build that does massive AoE - u can cast ancestors's rage on tank, echo it, a-echo it, and use spirit rift on the nearest target while all ur copies of AR are recharging. also u can go channeling/communing and bring weapon of quickening instead of echo so u can use it on sb monk and eles, also u should consider bringing Earthbind - most teams refuse to take rit 'cos they rely on 3 met storms for killing monks. keep in mind tho that eles dont kill monks by just dropping 3 ms on them, they still have to stay and burn, ms is here just for KD - when monk's sitting on the ground it dosnt heal. if u bring earthbind instead of 3rd ms in the team targeted monk will get KD-ed less often but will spend longer time sitting on the ground, so its all good
of cos u can just go cap SF and farm LB points till u get to lb6-lb8, and run standart SF/ms fire nuke build, but u can do more damage with rit skills.
and every prof can tank in DoA, as long as u know what u're doing u can tank with ur rit, but truth is - u cant start questing in DoA as a tank, u have to learn all maps, get familiar with team builds and such.

I was thinking the HB is basically healing and the rit can do exactly that...maybe even better:
HB(Typical)
Dwayna's Kiss
Healing Seed
Heal Party
Ethereal Light
Healers Boon
Necrotic Traverse( or life seed)
Essence Bond
Rebirth
Xinrae Rit
Spirit Light
Weapon of Shadow
Xinrae's Weapon
Life
Necrotic Traverse(Recuperation)
Mend B&S
Death Pact Signet or Flesh of my Flesh
Basically spirit light is your heal and mend b&s condition removal. Weapon of Shadow is unremovable and replaces healing seed. Xinrae when sb runs out and emergencies. Life is your heal party. the only problem is the rez... and life might not heal when you need it.
Any suggestions.

I wouldn't completely say Rits arent used in DoA.
Yes you're right they aren't as popular but they can be used to replace atleast one SF nuker.
I had a veil grp that went in with the Standard 8 man grp but replaced one SF nuker as a Channeling Rt/Me with Echo. Going Trenchway with the tank out in front, the Rt spammed Spirit's Rift and Ancestor's Rage for big numbers and placed down defensive spirits to assist the monks. Although he required a lil bit more BiPs then an Ele would, the possibilites for a Rit in DoA are definitely there.
PS - That run was the fastest Veil run I did (going trenchway atleast): a lil bit under 2hrs.

Mend Body and Soul <<<<<< 900 HP Dwayna's Kiss.
And I've seen higher numbers than that before during emergencies (massive hex and enchant stacks on the tank). Not to mention the rit can't spam HP which is the HB's job while the tank pulls. Also Necrotic Transversal can't really be used without Rebirth, Life is a bad choice (if you put it close enough to the tank for it to even work it'll draw agro), and Weapon of Shadow/Xinrae's Weapon, while interesting skills, aren't really worth bringing to DoA while trying to work it in to the standard group structure.
I'd try something more along the lines of what Skyros mentioned... an echo nuker using channeling skills.

I don't know why you'd bother with echoing the crappy channeling DD's when splinterbarrage exists to nuke the bejeezus out of everything.
Splinter barrage:
Pros:
Higher damage than SF (318 armor ignoring on 5 sec recharge)
More free skillslots (splinter barrage is 2 slots)
More free attribute points - You need 16 channeling, everything else is utility
Can poop out the needed spirits that the necro would otherwise use.
Cons:
Adjacent AoE only
Poor single target damage
No knockdowns from MS
No convert hexes (But resilient weapon will do)
All in all, it's an acceptable replacement for a SF guy.
Echo channelers don't seem to have a lot going for them. You could maybe make something interesting out of glimmering mark + channeling skills, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

You can't use Splinter barrage in DoA.
The most effective way in DoA is when tank is blocking enemies in corners and casters attack through the wall or from behind the corner. There is no line of sight for arrows
But you can easily replace an ele in any area.
Once I was in a team to kill Mallyx (Citadel) with a rit in it, meaning that there are rits who finished all four areas (which is a requirement to get into the Citadel)
Recently, just for fun, we went into Foundry with me as W/Me axe warrior, 2 SF eles, Rit, Talhkora, 3 monks Rit was spaming Splinter weapon onto me and I was using Tripple Chop + Cyclone Axe + Whirling Weapon - cleared 3 rooms in no time (25 minutes IIRC)
When we came to the point where you have to save the prisoners, bonder got DC and left the game (crashed I guess).
Dont give up, there are lots of rits in DoA, they just dont do PUG teams.

also with the new skill summon spirits you are no longer restricted to staying in 1 place for spirits to work, as you can easily move them to you.
my best bet for a rit in DoA would be a mix of defensive spirits and weapon spells for the tank. always keep the tank in 1 helpful unremovable weapon spell or another and have defensive spirits in his range(but behind a wall or something so they wont attract aggro) would be the most helpful and could replace a monk in my opinion, not sure which monk yet, perhaps the bonder.

Dont give up, there are lots of rits in DoA, they just dont do PUG teams. Oops, I'm a 'tard. Splinter weapon on the tank sounds perfectly fine though, as long as you find a warrior who doesn't fill his entire bar with defensive crapola. I know that the warrior is supposed to ank and all, but my best DOA runs have all been with warriors who bring attack skills.

here you go - 1.30 min Stygian with attaking warrior
Incandecree
Ancestor's Rage
Spirit Rift
Glyph of Sacrifice
Meteor Shower
Fire Attunement
Lightbringer's Gaze
Ghostly Haste
Searing Flames {E}
I have used this build with some success. It is awkward because of the target switching. Ancestor's Rage is on target ally and the rest are on the enemy. Ghostly Haste is used to lower the recharge time. One big argument against this is that it is very energy intensive and the bip needs to be constantly giving energy.

i've seen a rit using spirit rift, echoing it (maybe twice), and spamming it. needs a bip necro.
