Just saw anet put up a warning on the longin screen that if you use the local chat for trading your account will get a mark or something.

My compliments on the action Anet! Could you also mention that all spanning is prohibited? It still occurs on mass scale, and forces the scroll speed up to 2.5 times higher depending how much they spam

Its more a design flaw than a matter of choice.
Of course people are going to guest to the side that has the advantage.
So what does that tell you ? Either change the maps or fundamentally change the way AB is played. They changed Soul Reaping 24 months into the game. They can adjust AB.
As for the Bots in Altrumm... Either they arent being banned or theyre being remade with amazing ease & rapidity. Again... What does this tell you ?
It tells me Altrumm needs features to make it much less attractive for bots or they need to ban people there all day every day.

Ive never held much faith in thios whole "I didnt know about the Policy, I dont deserve to be banned" - Even before the "Ban the Spam" official intervention you still were NOT allowed to spam in chat, but now they dont even get the "I didnt know" excuse ^^

What about when someone (properly) types "WTS item, price" in all chat??? Because that automatically gets put into the trade channel where it should be.

Considering there is at least 2 years before GW2, I would think, once GW:EN is released (within the next 6 months), all of the other things that need tweaking will be handled...from bots...to AB...to leechers.

Uhhh... As far as " hardly ever wait time " as Luxon. You must not AB alot. Let the map switch to Kanaai & then see how long your wait becomes.Its bad enough on Etnaran half the time.
The bots are there. Its not my responsibility to police their game.
My points are this mainly... 1 If hundreds of bots are allowed to remain...you think theyre gonna ban people for chat spam ? 2 Its extremely poor business practice to threaten your customers with disciplinary action 25 months into a flawed system. 3 So long as real concerns with Bots & Arenas are diluted by people worried about chat spam & leeching...when all they really need to do is move 1 district up or leave the group next match...we will never get enough attention directed to genuine serious concerns.
At times, AB is easily the most popular arena in all of GW, it amazes me how poorly it is managed IMO.

All I know is, when I go to Lion's Arch, the local chat is much easier to follow as people are getting the message. People are actually using the Trade Channel to do their trading.

Theres a good majority of people who chat spam to sell items that use MACROS/SCRIPTS/BOTS to continously spam their messages.
Banning botters and spammers is one and the same in this case.

Why is it that you have to pick through the self centered posts in every thread.. if you feel there's a "genuine serious problem", then do something constructive about it. Start up a thread and make Gaile aware of it if you feel she isn't. They're actually beginning to fix problems, try being happy about positive progress. Sitting here whining because you don't feel it's a priority does nothing. If you hadn't noticed, the GW world does not revolve around you, and many people are happy that this was addressed and are grateful that positive progress has been made. Do something better with your time than sit here and pout because they didn't specifically ask you what you wanted fixed and make sure that was prioritized.
