What build is best for me?

I want a good PvE char that can pretty much solo most parts of the game. I don't know much about Guild Wars yet, but the char people pointed me at so far is Elementalist.

Can somebody point me in the direction of an excellent PvE char build? I currently have a Level 6 Elementalist with all unused attribute points.

First of all, I don't know what you mean by "solo the game", if you mean this in the most strict sense: this isn't possible. If you mean play with by yourself without other real players and with henchman only, this is possible with all characters although with some it will be harder than with others. And Elementalist is certainly not the worst class to do this with.

For builds, it is a bit hard to just give you one, with you being only level 6 yet and without knowing which skills you have unlocked on your character. Most builds on the forums and websites are based on a lvl 20 fully developed characters owning all chapters.

If you want to have some idea's you can look here for example:
http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Category:General_builds
or here:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...play.php?f=205

For now being lvl 6, you are probably best off to pick one of the elements: fire, water or earth and put the skills you have on your bar from one element and put most of your attribute points into that to max out your damage, instead of spreading them over several elements. Don't worry btw on spending attribute points, you can just move them around into other attributes in town for free at any time. It is hard to give you more advise without knowing what you have unlocked atm

If you want to solo, and you aren't that experienced you should play a Warrior/Monk and use the henchies.

Ranger and paragon are probably the best to play with heroes/henchmen. You get to stay away from the large mob and be able to call important targets for the computer to follow and attack.

Agreed. Warrior/Monk is not really the best choice. Ranger or Paragon is better to hench with, but Ele will work fine also.

All characters can solo the game (with henchies), even more so if you have Nightfall and the Heroes that come with it.

Once you get to 8 party areas, any character with 2 henchie monks, 2 henchie Warriors, and some combination of nuker/interrupter/buff henchies/heores can manage most things.
