Help a newb out

So, I just got GW: Prophecies and Factions yesterday.
Im already level 7, and as the cap is 20 I feel I`m doing something "wrong".
Now, could some of you answer my questions.
I`m playing the first campaign atm, haven`t touched Factions.

What are the best prof. sets?
Atm I`m a ranger/wizard (elementalist or whatever it was). I find it pretty decent but I`m sure there are much better sets.

What exactly is "running someone from a to b"?

If I reach level 20, what then? I`m sure this game ain`t that boring and short.

I come from Silkroad, a game where it was really easy to make loads of gold if you used your brains.
So, what are the items in GW people grave but cost a lot? and how to get them (ie Weapon Elixirs in SRO, my buddy managed to make 80 mil in a few days, although he had played the game for a week or so)
I heared Dyes are pretty expensive.

Is there a way to set up "stalls" or are there auction houses for sell items, etc? I find spamming annoying and a shitty way of selling stuff.

As there are no level limitations on weapons (as far as I know), I have no idea how powerful a weapon is against an enemy. The same with prices, I have no idea how to price some of the stuff I got, nor do I know if people even find them valuable Can anyone give me an overview of the previous 2.

How exactly can I use Runes on my weapons,armor, etc. Where can I "enhance" my stuff?

What "elements" people find the most valuable? In a way that I know what "extras" on weapons cost more. I hope your understood me there.

A:There is no 'best' profession. Ritualists and Mesmers are probably the only two professions that require thought and planning into their builds. Warriors and Fire Eles are the easiest. It really depends on what you want to do. Heal, Damage deal, support, frontline, etc...

A:Taking a player from one town to another. Progresses your characters faster. This is not recommended for new players, as you will miss storyline points and the such.

A:Reaching Level 20 is just the beginning. If you progress the way you should (ie-no running), you should be level 20 about midway through the game. There will be plenty of missions and farming spots you can do after level 20.

A:Ectos and other rare materials can be a blessing for that. Gold Items with max stats (see below) will be worth something. It really depends on the mods and the players on. The rare weapons can be found in the "Auction" section of this forum. Look for anything 100k and over.

A:Short Answer: No

A:It will take time for you to be able to see and learn how the trading system works and what an item is worth in game. Best bet would be to get a price check on a weapon in town or on the "Price Check" section of the forum. There are weapon damage limitations.

Sword - 15-22
Axe - 6-28
Hammer - 19-35
Wands, Staves, and other caster weapons - 11-22

A:Through "Rune Traders" or people selling in game. Rune Traders can be found in all major towns (ie-Ascalon City, Lions Arch, etc)

A:Weapon Mods. Sundering and fortitude are worth a lot more. Some people prefer Furious. Use the price check method listed above as a point of reference

1. There is no best profession combination. A R/E besides maybe a few viable skills such as the conjures, is not the best choice. Secondaries are not there so you can base half your build on them, they are there for one or two skills to help fill out your build. I'd stay away from using any secondary skills for now. A Ranger casting flare or fire storm is NOT good. (and neither is an elementalist doing the same thing, but you should get my point)

2. Running is an exploit in which someone runs through an instance with the rest of the party waiting at the beginning and takes them all through the portal at the end. The other members of the party do absolutely nothing. I consider it cheating, other do not, but that's another topic.

3. This game is anti-grind. Level 20 is just the beginning, the road to getting to level 20 is basically one long tutorial. You still have the rest of the game and plenty of other things to do afterward.

4. There's lots of items that cost a lot in Guild Wars. The ways to get them would just be killing stuff and opening chests. Elite missions are where the most expensive stuff is normally dropped which you'll be able to access later in the game. You can also solo farm to get stuff whcih means going out with no party using a special build to kill enemies in certain areas for phat lewts.

5. No, it really sucks but Anet refuses to implement them. Your best bet is using the sell forums on a site like this.

6. There are level limitations on weapons as you get farther in the game. They aren't level limittion really, but they require certain attribute points. However, higher requirement does nto equal a better weapon. All that matters is that a weapon is max. Req 7 is the lowest a max weapon can go, but those are EXTREMELEY rare and only in Prophecies. Req 8 is also very rare. Generally the lowest requirement max weapon is 9 and those are what you should be looking for. Non-max weapons are worth absolutely nothing and mostly anything over req 10 is also worth nothing unless it's a very rare skin. There is also a Price Check forum on this site that you can use.

7. You use runes to enchance your armor by buying them from Rune Traders or by finding them in enemy armors and salvaging them. You just click on it to apply it to armor. Weapons are enhanced by finding upgrades salvaged off of other weapons that you find.

8. Sundering is one of the most expensive mods, although it is terrible. If you want more damage on a weapon go with Vampiric which is generally a lot cheaper. Health +30 mods are also generally expensive even though armor +5 is almost the same and much cheaper. Most weapon mods only cost 1-5k, so they're fairly cheap. And price has nothign to do with how good it is. Usually on a melee weapon your going to want either Zealous or Vampiric depending on whether or not you need mroe energy or damage. Caster weapons vary depending on build.

I agree check out the wiki site it has tons of useful info....also if you go to the price check forum here on guru it has several stickies about rare items... Don't expect to make 80million in a couple days....in this game be frugal with your money as it doesn't really come easy. Best way to become "rich" is to power trade but you really need a bit of money and to know the current market value of a rare item...and know who to sell it too...check out the highend forum here on guru for ideas of items.
