I just read the new GW:EN article on gamespot, and things like "dwarven boxing" and that azura game with a silly name gave me an idea.... After all... the "G" in GWEN can stand for Gambling too.

Now.. Before I continue, I bet someone already thought of this, and maybe even posted in the forums, but I don't see a thread under the same name. Besides, another one couldn't hurt!

Anyways.... GAMBLING!

I think it's a great idea. How about betting on boxing matches? Games of chance, but with a twist! Gambling against NPC's and live human players. Bets starting as low as 5gp and going up to infinity!!

Remember those scammers in movies that would have 3 mugs, then they would place an item under one, "shuffle" them, and you would have to guess which mug has an item under it? Well something like this could work.

Hell, maybe we could bet items, not just money, but I'm not sure how that would work. Money is probably better...

Here's another idea... MINI TOURNAMENTS OF SKILL!!! Let's say 5 players participate.. Like in the rollerbeetle racing.... But they each bet a small amount of gold... Winner takes all !

The possibilities are endless!!!

Pros:

1)Great money sink!
2)LOADS of fun.
3)Potential Income.
4)Incentive to keep playing. (That's 4 you anet. We play more, you get more $$$)
5)Did I mention it's FUN?

Cons:

1)Players loose money and cry about it blaming everyone/everything but themselves.
2)Annoying whiners that will say gambling has no place in a game where there are kids... Setting bad example, gambling is evil, and all that crap.
3)Potential cheaters/hackers finding a way to win every time. (That's for you to figure out Anet)
4)People wasting hours of their life, trying to win virtual platinum...
