I happen to play Pre often, and I know this will be of great use to people who play in Presearing moreso than Post. Although I'm wondering as to why it wasn't in the update notes, odd but Anet has done it in the past.
As far as helping people in Presearing, this will be of great use to those going for LDoA, at least during the Charr killing part :P. Kill some of the bordom of that title.

Freakin sweet, Firebaall. The Charr were a great way to add extra pre storage, so it was only fitting they were also the way to add expert salvaging. Especially because the Charr are generally what you get salvageable items from (armor, weapons, etc.).

and vendors? They give it to people according to their skill (can kill charr bosses = you have it for free, ffs.) not according to how much gold they can amass.
Come on, this is way more than most people expected, they messed up hard with factions grind, but this ain't place for complaints about acually good feature.

I gotta say, that's quite a neat little update. The longest time I spent in pre-sear was eight hours but I recall finding a rune of vitae once and disappointed that I couldn't use it on my armor. And this salvage kit is so small that it fits perfectly with the atmosphere of green old Ascalon.

<= Not a pre-searing player, but I want to congratulate ANet on reacting so quickly on this. Having a 5 uses kit drop is a perfect solution, keeping pre-searing different, but making salvaging achievable.

Pre searing is very happy and the cheaters are showing their true colors
Runes in pre being about status? Lol those cheaters think pre is ruined now! Those same cheaters even tried selling the salvages for 10k each instead of the usual 60k each just yesterday
....and it was all about status HA! To them it was all about cold hard cash right from the start!
I'm a very happy person, this weeks been realy strange for me (guild of the week and now this) and I've seen 4 sunrises this last week but it was worth it
