"Unlimited elite skills in your skillbar weekend"
Drop of Fear
Alright, dunno You but I frankly don't understand why a.net keeps re-using sad weekend events like the "chances to drop a black dye are 0.0002% instead of 0.0001%" or "double monastery credits from quest ".
Where's the fun? why cant we have something completely different.
Unlimited elite skills weekend:
-No limitations, u can bring a full skillbar with 8 elite skills and wander around killing anyone with those.
-New titles. Cheating Legendary Survivor, Cheating Tyria/Cantha/Elona/Legendary Vanquisher/Protector/Guardian. Achievements during this weekend are marked in the title tab as cheating.
Ex: u completed with master 19 Hard Mode missions in Prophecies, then u take advantage of this weekend to complete the last 6 with a multiple elite skills bar. The title u earn is NOT the regular Guardian of Tyria, but a more exotic "Cheating Guardian of Tyria". Ofcourse after the weekend is over u are given the opportunity to beat again the missions without the multiple elite skills stuff and "convert" your cheating title to a regular one.
Ex: u decide to complete the 6 missions again without using multiple skills, those missions are not marked as cheating anymore and your title becomes a regular Guardian of Tyria one.
How's this one?

I LIKE IT!
Heaps of people would have fun and those who don't like it can simply take the weekend off
It's only for one weekend so it can't hurt the economy that much, can it?
And if Anet does think it would affect the economy too much they could limit it to missions and make it optional or something

Great idea

Yeah this sounds very well balanced and thought through. Cant see any problems from allowing this.

BEST IDEA EVER!!!, why not have a weekend that every one is GM and can spawn 100000000P money but we wouldn't call it real money we would call it cheat money and you would have to spend it at a cheat merchant that sells you cheat stuff like cheat keys and cheat dyes.
I'l let borat do the talking

Personally, I'd rather have a all celestial skills weekend. That'd be just as balanced.

What about general play? People'd be able to make ridiculous amounts of money by farming previously unfarmable (easily) areas *cough* DOA *cough*

Go play another MMORPG if you want to be able to own everything with your sword of leetness that deals 2000 damage a hit.
There is a reason something like this isn't allowed.

I agree that weekend events shouldn't be as lame as the triple dye weekends (wow we now have a 3 in a thousand chance to get a dye)
Weekend events should be some bonus that actually helps not just key new numbers into the drop rate equations

The reason for only one elite skill on a skill bar is because everything would be too easy. Triple dye drop weekends are boring, yeah, but Anet has done a lot of fun weekend events before. I wish they brought back old things more often, like opening the boardwalk, doing some festival games. Just random festival times that people can just slack off at.

I would agree if it was a separate arena only.
It could be like level 10-15 arenas, that lock elite skills, but locking non-elite skills.
There people con have some fun with elite-only builds.
It could be in Aprill foolls.
But ONLY as long it is in an event and SEPARATE from the rest of the game.

Also, @ all the people talking about the dye weekend, did you even play PvE that weekend? Pretty much everybody in my guild/alliance got like 3-8 dyes over the course of 2 days just through casual play (which is a significant increase from the average).

I played lots that weekend got some crappy reds and yellows
A friend played for 2hours and got 4 blacks
Nice "random" drops there
The drop system hates me i just did a Vanquish with 2 guildies
Me : 1 Gold from chest lost 3 picks
Guildy1 : 3 Golds from drops (didn't take picks)
Guildy2 : 1 gold from chest and 2 picks (+ retained 3 picks used on chests)
I bought 10 picks yesterday and i have opened 6 chests and now have 4 left
Ok i wandered from my point but i think the festivals are a good idea . maybe invent some for Elona and Tyria so it's not just the board walk for Factions people every weekend
Maybe it cycles Tyria --> Cantha --> Elona --> Tyria --> Cantha . . . . . . . so everyone gets one but theres some reward for people that have them all

All i did was taking my rit out for a spin outside of kamadan and waste every thing on land, skipped water because all the termites just dropped termite legs.
A channeling rit with a self heal and remove hex got me all those dyes after 7 hours of running around, usually taking 15 minutes to complete one run.
Doing it with a ritualist was by far the most quickest method, an ele is good but their casting times and recharge are long, melee classes are out of the question, you have to go to your enemies, which takes more time. with a rit you just spam all skills that have the range of your agro ring, one hit one kill except for the few bosses and lvl 6, 7 or 8 enemies, those take 3 spells, really if another dye weekend comes, take your rits out in kamadan.
