Green Farming: Worthwhile?

Alright, so here's the deal.

My fourth and newest character, an assassin, has finally advanced far enough to serve a specific role in my roster: green farmer. Now I know my primary character can farm ectos, a few but decent greens, do amazing PvE, and so on, but I thought having this character do it would be a pleasant change.

Now, I didn't time this session, but I'm sure it took a long while. At least 2-3 hours. In that time span, I got 2 golds, a smattering of random items worth very little, and a green that I sold for 3k, (valued at 3-5.) My last attempt at getting a second green was the Mindclouder but after killing the boss at least 20 times, with no green, I got bored and decided to continue playing through NF with my new character.

So. My question is this:

Is green farming worth the time and effort? Should I bother using my assassin for this particular form of looting? Regardless, I'm sure I'll ocassionally use him for something.

Please share your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!

My experience up to now is.. That Green-Farmin in NM is a waste of time .. the drop rate just got really bad..
Not saying that in HM it's better, but your chances of getting other items with higher falue is greater.
I think with introducing HM they pretty much hit everyone and made the money making pretty hard in the game.

There are still some greens that are worth a decent amount, but most of the more common ones are pretty cheap these days. That wouldn't necessarily deter me but they are also a pain to sell. So I don't green farm much anymore.

Well my assassin makes me a decent amount farming the scar eater. I love green farming, although it was really good when hard mode just came out(one run i had 6 golds from 13 enemies.O.o)

Thanks for the input guys. For the time being I'm going to beat Nightfall using my assassin. Then I'll use him to farm a few greens or maybe go back to Factions and beat that.

:P

I'll try farming bosses in HM, too!

Thing is right, greens were never meant to be expensive. They were added so the average gamer could get a nice weapon on the cheap. Just compare SF greens now to what they use to be.

As for green farming...farming is meh, never had the patience to do countless runs in the same area or on the same person.

Some chances to get elite tomes and gold items is always nice And stick with easy targets like Woe Spreader, Skybringer, Mindclouder and so on.

I'm currently making quite some gold with my necro farming for greens.
Elite tomes sell nice and there is a treasure chest on my route as well.
Also the amount of golden items that drop is nice. 1 gold every 2 runs for sure.

green farming is still lots of fun, especially the constructs in HM, really extreme ^^ just to note, green farming as farming especially for greens is not worth anymore ;/ if you farm greens in order to get a tome, few golds and a greenie in same run, it's a good place indeed.

example -> my war farming milthuran, from 4 mobs got 3golds, elite tome and green (well that's extreme but meh ;] still quick, easy and i'd say profitable.)
imho green farming is the most enjoyable farm cause you strike at exact monster and not just wiping everything that moves (well not at first at least tee hee).

many good spots already meant in this thread, note -> for a/e or e/a use intensity, that +2 or +5/hit can do ALOT of damage total ;]

I would say some greens are still worthwhile to farm (for green only) like
Dwayna's Grace
Oatbound spear
Ardeh Dagger
Koosun fire staff
rago flame staff
galigord stone staff

the reason green farming is so bad nowadays is that because every single green that can be 55'd has been overfarmed for the weapon or elite tomes. Thus, the supply overwhelms the demand

The only Green farm that I find worthwhile nowadays is the 130 D/Mo Floodplain of Mahnkellon farm, and it's mediocre at best for green drops. The real gem is the Tomes you get in HM. 3 bosses, two of them drop worthless greens, and 1 drops the Nightbringer which can sell for 10k easy in about 5-10 minutes. Also the 3 bosses are Warrior, Necro, and Elementalist, and all their elite tomes sell like hotcakes.

as everyone else has said, green farming in normal is relative crap. in HARD, however, your chance for awesome drops and leet tomes make the runs worth it. my necro makes a lot of money farming quansong spiritspeak for his focus and elite ritty tomes, which sell well because of VwK.

Don't farm the overfarmed greens like Skybringer and Mindclouder, they are barely worth anything.

Terror Scythe sells for 5-10k pretty easily and it's an easy farm.
Shrieking Spear also goes for around 10k as well.
Dunshek's Purifier is a quick 5k, occasionally up to 10k if you find the right buyer, and he takes 2 minutes per run. Elite Monk Tomes also sell for 10k nicely.

Koosun's Fire Staff may sell for a lot but it's a long trek to the boss and most likely not worth your time. Same with Dwayna's Grace, takes too long to farm. Galigord's and Rago's can't really be solo farmed. Oathbound Spear and Ardeh's Daggers suck...

Only problem is that single run takes too much time and Rago not always spawns during Noble Intentions . Neat thing is that sometimes they drop more than one green at once.

coming from a nother sin player, i would say if u are sick of farming greens or u feel that the drops suck for greens, dont give up! Try to farm the underworld, it works great with sins, alos elemental sword farming (my personal favorite) gives great drops in HM. Just some ideas.

pm in game if u need help with anything
