Gaile the faction change to FA battles does not seem to decrease leechers. And it has increased people leaving in the middle of battles because its not worth their time if their team is loosing. The motivation was good but I dont see this as successful.
There has to be a way to address leeching that is effective (and now leavers). Ive heard people suggest that a team should be able to boot a player if the majority agree. Or if someone is inactive some saction should be taken. I understand that someone could be mistakenly sanctioned due to computer trouble but on balance I think that is OK.
It is really not fun to deal with this. And the standard of play goes down because whichever team is loosing the rats desert. For people that enjoy FA battles I think it is more of a problem than chat spam ever was. (although I like that change)
I really hope you can fix this. Bring the programmers some doughnuts or something .... PLEASE!

I agree. I appreciate that they addressed the problem after community feedback, but this solution isn't really ideal. This makes playing especially on the Kurzick side even less rewarding than it was before. If you lose the match for example 2 minutes before the Vengeance of the Gods is complete, you get just peanuts as a reward. The Luxons can often win the match within 5 minutes if they bring decent skillbars.

Well, I have to admit that leeching has become less of a problem... in my experience at least. I played FA 4 times today, and only once did we have a leecher. That is far better than the 2-3 leechers i would see in every match in the past. This experience is limited to the Kurzick side so far. I've heard the opposite for Luxons. Last match the claimed to have 4 leechers, and an earlier match also claimed at least one leecher for the luxons. I'll have to go test it out myself, i suppose.
On another note.... I had my first Jade Quarry today. That is a great little map. I was fighting on the luxon side, and the match was close (10-9 Kurzick V Lux). It's a shame more people don't do this mission. It seems like a lot of fun.

Well the update actually made the problem worse, at least on luxon side. Before the update, there were less leechers, usually about 1 or 2 every other game. But now, there's at least 2 leechers EVERY game. and the attitudes of people playing now is just so rude! the moment they see a leecher they'd say 'I won't collect points for the leechers' then left. i know they have their reasons but this is a bit rude for me.
ANet, there's a very simple solution to this. That is to increase the faction gain when we kill someone, and decrease the reward at the end. or at least make the reward tie in to how many people we kill. i know on the kurz side this might not apply to those mine runners but may be can tie in the faction rewards with how many amber chunks they turn in? surely if it's carried out like this it will solve the leeching problem and people won't start leaving again.

^And what about monks? I monk on Kurzick so I do not run amber nor get kills, just keep everything ALIVE and protected which is extremely effective. I would need some love too.
