It's rangers that can charm pets, not ritualists
But having said that, it doesn't matter if your ranger primary or secondary as long as you have the skill charm animal.
I think you mean Ranger, but yes u can be a secondary Ranger and have a pet, u must have charm animal equiped for the pet to join u in explorable areas/missions once u have charmed it with the same skill.
