Hi

How about making the mesmer into some kind of spell mirror/powerhouse.

Right the Mesmer has a spell in Inspiration magic called Mirror or Reflection. Costs 25e 3sec casting and 60 second recharge (feel free to tweak and tune according to your own experiences) Enchantement spell lasts for 20 seconds and ends with the next spell that hits the Mesmer

What this does is whichever spell directed at the Mesmer, is reflected and affects everyone in their aggro circle. It has to be a spell that isnt AoE, but directed at the Mesmer.

So if its a curse, the curse is reflected and is instead targetted to all enemy units in the mesmers aggro circle.

If its a spell (that ISNT AoE) the spell is reflected and hit every enemy unit in the Mesmer Aggro circle. this works for both friendly and enemy fire, so the enchantement must make the mesmer a target for friendly foes (and as the spell isnt going to affect the mesmer its ok)

If its a healing spell that isnt AoE or a maintained enchantement, the spell doesnt affect Mesmer and instead affects all friendly units in the Aggro circle.

What do you think?

A very large, cozy virtual world.

I think that mesmers should be able to spawn rainbow colored ghosts that run around in Hello Kitty blazers, repeating the lines to "Bad Habit" by the Dresden Dolls.

Your idea is very general, and mesmers are already geared to screw up other players/npcs. They have their uses, although many pve'ers are too ignorant to realize this. If you're gearing your idea towards pvp, however, you can forget every word that you typed.

But keep thinking, maybe you'll come up with some revolutionary way to improve GW. (I'm still groveling on hands and knees asking Gaile about alternating chat colors.)

I'm sure I won't be the last to say this, but Mesmer IS a powerhouse. The people who really know how to play mesmer kick ass at it. In fact, I dare say you can be more help as a mesmer than any other class IF you know how to play one. What does this mean? It means if you buff up Mesmer, you make these already excellent mesmer players godlike. And trust me, you wouldn't want that.

Very few people play Mesmer, because it requires careful weighing of situations before their skills can be effective in most cases. But make no mistake, Mesmer isn't short on decent skills.

My 2 cents.

Ok the boards just wont let me edit my posts so sorry about posting so soon - Ok Ill try to be more specific.

I can imagine that this is a Echo related enchantment and would definitely need to be elite.

What this does is whichever spell directed at the Mesmer, is reflected and affects everyone in their aggro circle. It has to be a spell that isn’t AoE, (so it wont echo SF or Savannah Heat or Sandstorm or anything like that) but spells that are targeting directly the Mesmer. (lightening hammer, flare, mindblast ^^)

So if its a curse, the curse is reflected away from the Mesmer and is instead targeted to all enemy units in the mesmers aggro circle. (This works both ways whether it’s a friendly Necro using you as a curse powerstation or an enemy necro thinking to curse your butt. Either way it gets reflected to enemy targets. This still doesn’t affect things like SS as they affect adjacent targets etc.

If its a spell (that ISNT AoE) the spell is reflected and hit every enemy unit in the Mesmer Aggro circle. this works for both friendly and enemy fire, so the enchantment must make the mesmer a target for friendly foes (and as the spell isn’t going to affect the mesmer its ok)

Im not making a comment about the effectiveness of Mesmers or knocking them down - I have one myself and love her v much. I know how to play Mesmer very effectively but Im posting in this thread for a reason - Its fantasy.

I can see how it would hurt in PvP but its meant to. Also strategic placing and coordination of attacks between team mates is all part of PvP and this could be fun. It cant be spammed and takes a major chunk of NRG out of your bar so echo'ing isnt possible and only works for 1 spell being directed at you. If someone else hits you before you in place its wasted etc.

Dont see why there needs to be a sweeping statement like that. Think about it it could be fun.

My guildies really feel the difference in HM when I'm not here with my mesmer.
Yes I talk about PVE.
Armor ignoring damage, debuffing, interrupting, mana stealing, what do you want more?

Either you don't know how the game works, or you don't word yourself very well. Curses cannot target a party member, only enemies. Very few Necro skills can target a party member, and none of them are skills you would want to have hit an enemy (Blood Ritual, Blood Bond, Blood is Power, etc.).

Although modified, it sounds like you want a Mesmer version of Mirror of Ice. It would have to be an elite, as you already have Inspired Hex and Inspired Enchantment to steall spells from an enemy. Your version would just allow the spell to be targeted to multiple enemies, with no recast time. Over powered, even with a long recharge, yet easily countered. It would be an enchantment, so it could be shattered, stripped, inspired, etc.

Needs MAJOR work to be considered worth adding, and even then, it is already in the game, just not on the one skill/cast that you seem to be implying.

Mesmers need buffs, and then again they dont. Too many buffs (like this one) will make them over powered, and more then likely, overplayed. Thats bad. ButI love having a mesmer in my party (still dont know why i deleted my level 20 endgame mesmer) and i agree there should be more. So i guess im saying that mesmers DO need buffs....just this kind of buff is a bit too much...idk, just my 4 cents there.
