Guild Wars: Eye of the North pre-order code content (pre-order released 20th July): Access to the Sneak Peak Weekend that runs from August 24–26, 2007. You’ll be able to log-in to the game and gain early access to Eye of the North content. Everything that you gain during the Sneak Peak Weekend, including items, XP, Heroes, and loot, will be permanent and available to you when the game goes live. Three exclusive weapons for you or any Heroes you may meet through your adventures in the Eye of the North expansion—a Glacial Blade forged by the Norn of the Shiverpeaks, an Hourglass Staff crafted by the greatest of the Asuran artificers, and a Darksteel Longbow that was once wielded by the most powerful of the Charr Stalkers. Trilogy Trial: Access to all three Guild Wars Campaigns—Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall for 10 hours or 14 days, whichever comes first. If you’ve never explored the continents of Tyria, Cantha, or Elona before, now is the perfect time! In the face of Tyrias greatest challenges, heroes have returned to bring to an end the forces of darkness. Abaddon has fallen, Shiro has been unmasked, and the Titans were driven back to the demon realms. Now great earthquakes decimate the lands, opening huge chasms beneath the earth. Boiling up from that darkness, a threat spreads that may spell the end of the Age of Man. . . Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the first true expansion for Guild Wars and calls players back to the continent of Tyria, the home of the original Prophecies campaign. Players must take their existing characters and stand side-by-side with both friends and enemies from the past, recruit new allies and heroes, and delve deep into perilous dungeons to face an ancient evil. Win or lose, the players will set the stage for Guild Wars 2. * Guild Wars’ first TRUE expansion pack. Compatible with any previous stand-alone campaigns. |

nice find but its quite confusing with the "Sneak Peak Weekend that runs from August 24–26, 2007" Is it like a early start like what they did with factions or is it a sneak peak of Gwen. Anywho well have to wait and see if that is truely real or not.
Etta
Hahaha check out the screenshots!

ya i know its very funny

I still say it'll be released Aug. 31st, but I know how much people hate unofficial dates. :P

Um, aren't those photos (except the last) screen pics from Tabula Rasa?
Besides, I know this is open to interpretation, but under the GW:EN FAQ
http://www.guildwars.com/support/faq...enorth-faq.php
it stated that there is not going to be a "Demo" for GW:EN. I would take that as no preview event.

stand alone pieces probably means like, a special helm or mask...or maybe even those knuckles.
this certainly looks official, great find...i guess this probably means that gw:en won't be out til late september, though...i don't think they'd do a preview weekend the weekend before the game is out.

If it is legit (which I doubt) then Anet is completely breaking with the way that it has done things in the past:
Access to the Sneak Peak Weekend that runs from August 24–26, 2007. You’ll be able to log-in to the game and gain early access to Eye of the North content. Everything that you gain during the Sneak Peak Weekend, including items, XP, Heroes, and loot, will be permanent and available to you when the game goes live.
If it is a true sneak peak, then historically, you would not be able to keep loot, items, or XP on your sneak peak characters. This is usually because of balancing, but it is usually with newly created characters. Because GW:eN is for lvl 20 existing characters, that may be the difference, but I just figured that they would do like the PvE Factions weekend, and make you create a new Character that is pre-made at lvl 20.
Anyway, we did get info from the official site that an announcement would come soon, maybe someone leaked the info before it was supposed to be announced, the same way that the GW:EN info was first learned about.

We will probably be able to keep the loot, because we will be using our old characters. I doubt that we'll have to make a new character of an old profession.
Age
This is no more different than the thread I made.

The weapons sound cool.
If this is accurate, "Sneak Peak Weekend" is misnamed. It should be a "Headstart" and it should end with the official launch of GWEN...

How many times do people have to be told before they understand?
If it doesn't come right from the mouth of ArenaNet, then it's not legit.
Enough of these 'probably', 'maybe', 'possibly', 'could be' and 'rumored' posts. It'll get here when it gets here and so far only ArenaNet knows exactly when that will be!

ah yes, trust a website that can't even get it's screenshots and concept art together correctly over any words from Anet. Which by the way, this company called Anet develops GW, not this poor excuse for a website.

Sigh. This is a fan internet site. Rumors are what makes it fun.
If it wasn't for rumors, there would be no point even coming here, we'd all just hang out at guildwars.com all day, hitting refresh.
Also, funny how a little known website was the first to get the scoop on GW2 and GWEN. And, despite Gaile Grey's warnings not to trust it, got almost everything right.
Now, I'm not saying that any of this info is true. But it's fun to speculate, and there's no reason to think it's not at least possible.

Again, I'm not saying that is the case here, but it all sounds pretty believable.
Let me put it this way: If the pre-release is really like this, I'll buy it. So even if it's not being planned by Anet, maybe it should be.
LifeInfusion
It's not like anything in the description is so farfetched... the first article on GW:EN and GW2 was something out of the ordinary, on the other hand.
