I'm considering buying a new monitor, particularly this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824116060, and was curious as to what the option are for widescreen. Any help would be appreciated. I dont have any widescreen monitors around so I cant test it myself. I'm a little wary about getting the widescreen in the first place, especially if programs arent going to support it.

Simple really! Plug monitor in, fire up Guild Wars and select your resolution!

If you're using a widescreen LCD, just select its native resolution from your GW graphics settings to avoid any distortion.

GW is really nice on a widescreen monitor. I recently started playing on a Dell 2407WFP (24" widescreen) at 1920x1200. As long as your video card can handle the resolution and you're using fairly new video drivers you should be in good shape. Some monitors (like the 2407WFP rev.04) can also do 1:1 pixel mapping so you won't get distortion with games that won't do a widescreen aspect ratio.

Yep, it'll work the same as any other monitor, just change the resolution in the game's settings. It selects from the resolutions available for your monitor, so you'll be fine.

thanks for all the replies. I had read on a review of GW that it only supported up to 1440 by something, which is smaller than most of the monitors i was looking at. I've seen some really bad lcd's at the IT dept where i worked, so i was just a little paranoid. We did get some 2407's, very nice.
