GW guru runs slow for me

It runes slow for me to just like you said and sometimes I get timed out.It is because there are a lot of ppl on the site at the peak time of day and I am not sure of the bandwidth.It seems to me the vb as apposed to bb board run a little slow in FireFox if that is what you are using.There is Forum about the site as well at the bottom.

Of course things are being done! We don't have a big backer like Incgamers, IGN, etc. to help us with server costs. We rely on advertising and on our subscriber fees to help get a new server. A new dedicated server is expensive, something we are working toward. I can tell you I have had many, many, many, too many conversations with our network owner and server admin to try to improve and see what we can do. We need a new server and that is something that we are very much working toward, but it's thousands of dollars for a quality one where we won't soon run into the same problems again. yep, guru is one of the slowest sites I have ever visited....some days it runs pretty quickly (like a minute to load pages), other days 10 minutes to just get the white page of death....but thats normal for guru in my experience with it. (today it took over 1/2 hour to finally get one page to load, and no my dsl line is just fine on every other single site I visit...it is guru).
not much we can do about it, I usually do other things while surfing guru, make dinner, eat breakfast, take a shower, dry my hair, watch tv, answer the phone or door....I have learned that this site makes my mom-in-laws dial up on everyother site look super fast!

I just noticed there was 1.8k people viewing Guru after reading this thread. That's alot of people, cgz to guru for being so popular! I mean that's like one mmorpg's game server almost. I guess all those people are causing the lag. I think some real advertising would help, not just advertises for Zwinky or some dumpy mmo. Like real game advertising from game companies.
