N/A atm

Thanks to the teams working on this problem..

Looks like most of the problem has been fixed from the maintenance work done, but im still not getting the same quality connection to GW that i was getting before the 29th, right now i average around 200ms playing ab, now this is fine for ab/pve GW is very playable, but im worrying about gvg, where infuse is a key skill and requires a good ping to be semi accurate, so will still have to test for gvg.

^so if there is a food shortage in your supermarket you want it to create food.

please think before bashing people. wow is maybe not redirecting you to a server located in frankfurt, and this is why you have no problems.

ho btw I'm running out of beer, why didn't you buy any? I want my beer!! "jeezzz"

addendum 2 -- 2 July 10:30 PM Pacific (-7 GMT): Our network team reports that today's scheduled maintenance went as planned and so far, all looks well. There are some configuration and compatibility matters that are now full aligned, and the stability for about the last hour has been solid. The logs they were getting from earlier errors are not reoccurring, which is a positive sign that the maintenance fixed the issues.

If any European player has comments or experience reports since the maintenance was complete, I'd be delighted to pass them along to the network team. Thank you again for your patience while we worked to resolve this issue. --Gaile 05:30, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Doesn't seem to have had any effect on my connection as info Gaile - Im still getting massive lag spikes which make trying to do anything constructive completely impossible.
Thats going through the 206.127.x.x server.

It seems to be a lot better for me now. Was able to play without noticeable lag between 18:45 GMT and 21:00 GMT yesterday evening (July 3rd), and also this morning between 05:30 GMT and 06:30 GMT. No idea what servers I was on, didn't check.

Amazingly i started lagging yesterday... Lots of ppl from my guild had lag issues for some time now...But although i share the same ISP as some of them, i didnt use to have the same kind of lag they do. Yesterday i was playing fine at the afternoon (GMT+1 here) but when the time for nightly gvg came (AT), I was lagging like crazy. At the guild hall, all seemed fine, but as soon i entered random arenas, gvg, AB, my ping skyrocketed to a whooping 1.6k.. Funny thing is that this started for me yesterday, AFTER anet suposedly fixed the lag issues...

Talking to plaync support about it last time they showed me I had almost 100% packet loss during the spikes which is true since I got screenshots of all 8 of my skills pinging as if they are going off while I'm frozen.

So, bad routing. Last time I had to change my ISP to get rid of it. This time it's up to anet or I'm not buying eotn or gw2.
If u use adequate tools u will see that u are also routed via frankfurt. most likely cause the servers are located nearby. All European districts go (most likely) via Frankfurt as indicated by tracert. What goes wrong over there I dont know, might by a local HUB there, the host of ANets servers or the servers of ANet itself.

BTW the problem is solved here which is very nice, it was an absolute nightmare this weekend

It's really pissing me off now. 5 Days of constant lag while in Euro districts and no mention of a resolution. I know it isnt in Anet's direct control but it's still their responsibility to provide and maintain a reasonable service.

If this routing problem in Frankfurt can't be fixed, which it obviously can't, then why not reconsider business partners? Or are these the cheapest available?

I'm in the UK. I've been lagging badly in the Euro districts these last few days too, to the point where it's unplayable. Thankfully the Int districts have been ok enough. I'm glad there's alternatives just in case!

Ok, so after an unplayable weekend of lag, Monday and Tuesday were fine no problems, back to normal, but now the lag has returned to enact vengeance on those it deems unworthy...

I did a tracert (start>run>"cmd">tracert <gw server ip>) and my connection also runs through germany on it's merry way to the ANet server. Hurray for me.

Before thursday always average ping of 20-40. And now I dont get below 2k average ping . Screw this, no way im buying GWEN and GW2 if it continues like this!

It all got worse for me. A LOT WORSE.
I had lags between 1000ms-5000ms some days ago until yesterday.

But now they are between 90 and 120 SECONDS.

The game is totally unplayable at the moment.

Massive lag spikes and crazy ping times.

Possibly the worst I have ever seen it.

Gah, this is super frustrating for me, because I moved house over the weekend, and last Thursday was the last time I played GW in my old house (performance was good as ever)

Now I've set up everything in my new house, my ping has been (red engineing) appalling ever since Sunday when I started playing again.

Up until reading this forum I had put it down to the change in environment. Now I'm not so sure >_<.

Edit: Forget to mention I'm in England

Edit2: Ok, just tested international district-1 (the only non-euro district I get it seems) It's giving me a consistent 300-400ms, with occasionally <250ms, which isn't great but is a ton better than the 5,000ms spikes I am getting every ten seconds on the english servers.

Shame the only people I am likely to meet in international-1 are bots and ebay customers collecting their hard earned gold

Hm, never had any issues, untill today...

Max lag of 3.700 ms and even some maps wouldn't load (sometimes it all hangs on 'Connecting', while other times it gets stuck at 100% ). Didn't had that problem before.

Five days later and as with a lot of people I'm still having really bad lag. Missions are unplayable for the most part, but it does seem better late in the evening (11pm gmt). Had one ping that was 21 000 that is insane, generaly pings range from 71 - 3000, not ideal for an online-multiplayer game.

I hope this gets corrected soon.

I've had no lag at all, but when playing at European English servers in Presearing I often heard complaints of big lag from my team mate. For some reason, the lag did not affect me at all.

I'm connected via XS4ALL internet, The Netherlands.

Whew, finally I've read all posts.
My friend had some bad lag last week, and when his was mostly over, mine started yesterday. Both dutch. More friends allso had bad lag but they said they fixed it by adding 3 DNS-adresses in their network device. He gave me the 3 DNS-adresses: ns1.servermatrix.com, nic.arpa.org and vnsc-pri.sys.gtei.net, he said it fixed most of his lag by using those, and one of his friends didn't notice much difference.
Well hes not very skilled with windows so I'm asking here, has anyone else heard about those 3 adresses, can anyone confirm the story?

This seems to be a very unlikely way to fix it to me.

DNS (Domain Name Servers) translate domain names to IP addresses. When you type www.google.co.uk into your browser and hit send, a query goes off to the DNS server which translates the name into an IP address, in this case 64.233.183.103. Your connection is then established to the IP address.

When you are playing Guild Wars, there should not be any DNS translation involved, as the game client connects directly to the IP address of the server.

Anyway, I really hope this is fixed by the weekend. Roller Beetle racing with massive pings and lag spikes will be no fun at all.

This is unacceptable, for six days now i have had massive lag spikes and huge pings upto 22,000.
Constantly freezing and delays using skills and loading areas, this is not what i consider a quality service.
What the hell is going on, Anet must have some idea, even if it is outside thier control, they surely must have the reason for it.
FFS sort it out.

I've noticed that the lag is very very bad during the day (I'm based in London UK) but in the evening everything returns to normal. It seems that something is eating up all the bandwidth during the day hence the lag... I hope this is resolved soon?
