It's certainly a shame - it was the first festival I saw and my favourite, too. It seemed to have a better balance of stuff to do (the quests) and freebies dropped than the other events. Wintersday is close, but its present game gets messed up too easily. Oh, well.

Announced where exactly? Unless a person from Arena Net has said so, it can't be considered fact.

EDIT: I just took a look at the GWW and this is what I found.

"According to Gaile/Frog Talk it's likely that there will be another festival for summer 07."
