Gw:en - 20.07.2007
ludogego
I don't know if this is old news but I think that something important will happen on the date 20 July 2007. Yesterday I bought a magazine and in it there is an advertisement of GWEN with a big date on it - 20.07.2007.
Maybe a pre-release pack will be offered.

Link or magazine title please? I haven't seen any press releases about this so its not real

The Magazine is 100% real. It is a bulgarian magazine and is called "PC Mania". This is the bulgarian magazine which provided the information about GuildWars 2 and GWEN and also gave the Asura minipet. I know it is not famous in other countries because Bulgaria is not a big nor leading one. The advert is in the magazine but our local Game distributor - "Pulsar Games" - ordered it. You can clearly see the web page of the distributor - www.pulsar.bg - on the add. It is real. I was so exited to see it yesterday because there was no real news or dates about the release but I think this is the date for the pre-release. I don't belive that Pulsar Games will release something that they are not sure about.

Thanks for the info. However I read the above links as the preview event being planned for 24th August, meaning late August-September for a release date proper. You might be able to access the items in the pre-release pack on 20th July, but not a lot else.

i think devs put out a general target range for release (3rd quarter of 2007...summer of blah blah blah, etc.). the companies that sell the games and gamer magazines then come up with a dummy date (aug 31, 2007) in order to put it in their system for preorder.
it seemed like gaile was confirming the unique items in the prerelease however not necessarily the exact date. i'm kinda interested in what these "other projects" she mentioned were all about. mayb vamis has the idea...a preview weekend which can be accessed by people who ordered the prerelease pack.

I was told months ago by my local Gamestop that this is the release date, probably of the pre-order. Nothing has been officially released yet to my knowledge, but on numerous occasions I have known a correct release date from them long before any official announcement. The only time to my knowledge they have been wrong about such a date was with Oblivion - and that simply because the release was delayed due to bugs.
Once again, I say that to my knowledge, nothing has been "officially released" in regards to GW:EN release date, but I feel confident saying something will be released on 7-20-2007.

Chances are, 7-20 is the date of not only the Pre-Order package release in stores, but the Preview event for GW:EN. It sounds like a good date, starts on a friday and is at the end of the month. All of these sound like something Anet would do.
And, because many places have 7-20 down, I'm guessing this is the correct date, as I believe something like this happened with the Nightfall Preview event as well.

The 20th seems like a likely date for this pre-order package..
Similary, almost every retailer lists Eye of the North as being released August 31st. And yes, I know that isn't confirmation, but it's slightly suspicious when so many places use the same date. I know retailers oftenuse placeholder dates when they don't know when a game will be released, but they wouldn't all use the same one.
Pre-release pack: 20th of July
Eye of the North: 31st of August
Not official, but fair assumptions.

If it is the date, then A-net is cutting it to close. We already stepped into July, an there has yet to be an official date. You know I like the idea that A-net is giving some good detail to the press finally and getting the word out there. However procrastinating to the point where either you have the funding or don’t, is probably going to break some reasoning to people buying EotN. I mean if the date holds true.
