Luxon's and a need for Fast Faction Farming.

I had something come to my attention and it concerns me a bit.

First some background.

I recently had my guild disband after a year of gaming with the same people. So like a normal GW player I began seeking another guild. I posted on GURU of course and had no less than 9 good guild offers. I was happy with the offers these guilds provided and I liked many of the guilds that wanted me to join. I declined the offers not because these guilds were inferior in any way, or because I could not agree with the policies of the guild. I declined because they were Luxon and I had over 1 mil Kurzick faction invested.

Now before the faction skills update I could care less about whose side I supported It did not matter to me the player one bit. However with the advent of PvE skills being tied to faction farming, I quickly realized there is no way I’m joining a Luxon side for PvE skills because the efficiency of farming faction at Lutguards is just so much more profitable than anything a Luxon guild could offer. While farming at Lutguards I began meeting others who had left the Luxon side JUST SO THEY COULD FARM FACTION FOR PVE SKILLS more efficiently.

For those who do not know (and I know this is very old news) you can earn about 10k faction about every 30 minutes with a good team by running a quest out of Lutguards. That’s 20k faction or 40k faction an hour towards your PvE skills tied to your faction title per hour.

So my question is really for Luxon guilds..

Has the advent of faction based PvE skills created a decline of recruits for PvE guilds on the Luxon side? Has lack of efficiency for farming faction been a problem for Luxon based guilds because of faction based skills?

You have to remember that (unless pre-arranged by your guild/alliance), you have to spend the time in finding and keeping together a party at Lutgardis, which can be pretty challenging during the week.

Both the Kurzicks and the Luxons have their other favorite FF place (the Duel out of Brauer Academy and the Jade Arena out of Breaker Hallow), which gain similar FF (about 10K/hour) on a solo basis.

In short...yes, it's a little harder/slower to get Luxon faction by grinding, but it's not massive.

You know that used to be true when Factions first came out a year ago. However there has been a "we are all in this together and we want our skills more than we want allegence" attitude of late.

Furthermore I'm running with people who I used to farm amber with a year ago. We have been taking anyone who can run the routes.

So I have to strongly disagree with an inability to find a group.

Why? Kurzick and Luxon factions are separeted. Then why do they need a fff?

Kurzicks have the best faction farming quests in the game. Even the boss runs are better in Kurzick territory. A properly set up FFF Lutgardis run is very fast. A single player doing the Brauer Duel run using H/H can easily get 400 faction in under 2 minutes. An Eternal Grove boss run can get ~2500 faction in ~14 minutes. The Arborstone boss run gets 1030 faction in ~3 minutes. A dual Arborstone boss run doin 2 seperate routes can easily top that. Tbh i find the Brauer Duel run to be the best, the others rely heavily on not having afk's, people not dieing or lagging, people not leaving and having to find replacements. The Brauer run is just you, 3 heroes, 4 henchman and lots of AoE, if a friend goes afk you can do a run yourself before they get back!

What do luxons have? The Jade Arena? And that takes longer to reach. And as far as i know they don't have any good boss runs either.

How do you get that? I kill the nekro, ele, monk and warrior boss on my run plus about 30 monsters but that gives only about 750 faction at takes a lot more than 3 minutes ;/

3 mins is a bit of an exaggeration I think... I don't know, I haven't seen how fast it can be done with a human team. 4:35 is my PB using H/H

ok maybe ~4 mins... i keep reading the /age thing and not including the fact its gone 3 minutes.

But thats not hte point... either way Luxons have jack in the order of FFFs. Need proof? HzH is been held with 86million, right after the 10% drop. Cavalon is 38mil.

lol, as a luxon i have absolutely no idea what any of these boss runs are. i've seen the duel guy...is lutgardis the pve challenge mission? i've kinda messed with the luxon challenge missions and the one by cavalon is roughly 1 faction per minute (if you're fast enough) and i'd have to guess the east town by rhea's crater would be the challenge mission that gives any reasonable amount of faction (though there was like...1 afk guy when i went there and i played a little of it with h/h without really being able to hold interest beyond 10 minutes).

i've always just done ab for faction and aspenwood to keep it from becoming too dull.

I've been trying to find a decent Luxon farming method and i discovered i can run the scouting mount qinkai quest, solo on my ranger in a few minutes.
It's incredibly boring and i only did 4 runs but it's simple enough and gets you 2k exp, 400 faction and 150g per run.

Having said that, it is more difficult to gain Luxon faction. I know because i am ex-Kurzick and even though i never did the so-called fff quest, i was able to do the bauer duel in two minutes using frozen soil and henchies.

I haven't yet tried the Luxon duel for faction (since the first time i discovered it months ago for fun) and i'll be checking that out later tomorrow.

Most of my rank2 Luxon faction has been farmed by the shrine blessing which is better financially but not overwhemingly interesting. Especially when most of the monsters kill EACH OTHER and rob you of the points.
That's very irritating.

I have been FFF-ing in lutgar for the weekend and the only problem i have had was people not being able to run Mushroom and speed runs where people didnt die fast enough. After I went through many runs of kurzick fff, I went to luxons for a bit and I couldnt really find any specific spot to farm for luxon faction. However I do know that the quest "The Halycron Job" can be done solo with a Necro or Monk at 55hp +25 with blessing and taking out all 25 assassins, and then the boss for 510 luxon faction. This does take up quiet sometime though and I only did it 4 times (2000 luxon) which I quickly spent on The Deep Passage Scrolls. =D But isnt it possible to do something in Boreas Seabed involving killing the 1000 Daggers guild boss, Sskai, and Geowulf (if spelled correctly)?, I think that might be something for luxons that hasnt been skill built yet =D

On the luxon side, killing Reefclaw, Jaquei, and Soulwhisper outside Leviathan pits on HM takes around 6 mins and nets you 600-700 faction. It's no where near as good as the kurzick side but it's the best I've found as a FFF for the Luxons.
