Speculation on Hall of Monuments

I would like to hear the opinions of how the Hall of Monuments in GWEN is going to work. First, my big question, is will the Hall be an account-based or character-based place? Account-based would be helpful for I have numerous titles that I have only worked on one character and I have important titles spread out on 5-6 toons that I would all like to be in one hall, not 5-6. Is it going to be an instance, like maybe a place like that we can access from the "ship icon" like the Temple of Balthazar, or maybe only from inside the GWEN world. Thoughts, anyone?

It'll be both Account/Char based.
Imagine a large tower, the base of this tower has character achievements, the higher level, account achievements. I just think of it as a giant tower with empty spots where a gargoyle might usually perch. And instead u just see a statue of ur achievement in the give spot(s)

I think it will be Character based: Each character will have his/her own monument.
That question will be answered soon enough; the bigger question: How will the Hall work in GW2? Will we be able to combine Titles onto one character in GW2 (so players with many titles spread across different Characters can make one uber-character in GW2)?
Will we be able to update our "Rewards" in GW2 by finishing off Titles in GW1 after GW2 is released?
And what exactly will those rewards be?!?

I just hope that we dont put whatever it is in the hall of monuments.....then wait 2 years for it to actually mean something lol.I hope it has to something with the current guild wars.

From what I understand, the Monument will show off your titles by improving the look of your instanced Hall.
Besides that, I doubt you will get any further benefits from Titles in GWEN beyond the few titles that directly effect skills, picklocks, etc.

They did say it would be in an instance. Similar to the Sunspear Command Post. I'm fairly certain the all achievements on your account will be in one hall, but each of your GW2 characters will have to choose one character to inherit from though. Not sure if multiple characters can inherit from one character.
Alex said a while back that it is unlikely you'll have to use the same name to inherit from a certain character. Though all your GW1 character names are automatically reserved for you in GW2, you'll have to associate your GW2 and GW1 accounts to be able to access them.

i think if a GW1 character makes a monument for say rank1 chatographer and the GW2 person inherits it it will be the same. if you continue exploring on gw1 i recon it will also change in gw2 if you go to hall of monuments.
If there is titles in the new game theyre probably different so you cant continue them in gw2. If i inherited my treasure hunter title i dont think my character can continue with it in gw2 but can in gw1. If there is a treasure hunting game mechanic in gw2 they would maybe make a seperate title

Chances are Anet will make it so maxed titles only count in Hall Of Monuments. So then your GW1 character cannot change the monument again by progressing to a next rank. Of course when your character gains a new title that appears in their HoM the same monument opens up in GW2 and unlocks the reward.

I'm thinking it will work kind of like the command post in Factions, where it is different for each person depending on how what you have achieved.

It would have to continue updating since they'll want to give people a reason to buy GW1 after GW2 comes out. New player x buys GW2 and therefore has no GW1 titles... they find out about hall of monuments and buys GW1 with expansion to get titles and account upgrades at any time. The hall would need to work for each character, with each hall being unique. Upgrades would have to be acct based, based on either most decked out hall on the acct or best in each category.

I would hope that the hall of monuments would update with new statues or whatever whenever you reach a new tier in a title.
Say the first level is a basic statue
next level adds a weapon
next level adds an offhand
next level adds some special effects
next level adds some more special effects or decoration...
and so on...and only once you actually max the title will you actually unlock anything for Guild Wars 2.
That's how I'd like to see the Hall of Monuments done.

Well obviously Anet will make it so that ur title will continue growing... It isn't for nothing your GW1 and GW2 accounts will b bound together (How else would you get the titles accros the games)
And IMO, i prolly wont spend that much time on GW1 anymore when GW2 comes out...

Depends how much of a reward you get in GW2 how much time i'll spend on GW1
Also i really hope if you do get a new title in GW1 your GW2 character can get the reward - more realistic (says while fighting a Lich Lord by shooting fire at it

I hope its not solely max titles that will grant rewards/effects in GW2, quite frankly maxing the Hero title is nigh impossible (as in the required amount of time to complete it, e.g 100 fame every single day will give you the max title in about 3 years)
I hope for each tier of whatever title would net something slightly different, and of course the max title reward would be a lot more prestigious than rank 1 or 2, but then those of us who play casually and don't grind insane amounts of X will still get nice treats for GW2
