GWEN will we get new chr slots?
Well99
I tried search to find out and wasnt able to.Might have not put it the right way.Anyways will there be new slots for GWEN?I know it isnt a stand alone game but I am curious.
Thunder79
No new professions...expansion is solely for existing characters created in the other campaigns (ie no "GW:EN characters")....no additional character slots needed. According to Anet.
I believe they confirmed there would be no character slots included with GW:EN

I thought that maybe the case but thought I ask anyways.
Thank you

First of all, on topic: No new char slots for GW:EN.
And off topic: If anything there will be more content in GW:EN. There will be no newbie island, it will all be level 20 content. I think the price is fair.

This expansion is going to be primarily pve oriented and with that objective it would make sense that they include an extra slot or two. If they somehow increase the storage instead, I would be happy too. Its very hard to sell things in gw (No auction house), give us more space then to store our loot while we sift through spam trying to sell the items.

The fact that Anet developers don't have to create a newbie island and new profs and skills means more time devoted to content: Ie, this should be the biggest GW world yet in terms of post-20 content.

If you want a new character, buy a slot now and level up before GWEN.
Extra storage would be nice. I hope that is offered.

Actually, since it's post level 20, it makes since there will be no extra slots. Why offer a new slot, and then be unable to use that slot in the expansion? Let's hope there is some storage/chest vault expansion since we don't have extra toon slot

I think we should get one or two extra anyway. I mean honestly, how are we meant to keep interested for the next two years without being able to start new characters? I know we can buy new character slots, but honestly, I think we deserve some reward for our long service to the game...

well keep posting your position in this thread to get Anet's attention. We need to know if there is going to be slots or expansion on storage

-no new classes
-no new char slots
-150 new skill compared to 350 in nf/300 in factions/ and 201 in prophecies
-40 new armors compared to 84 in factions/72 prophecies/ and lord knows how many for nf.
im sure theres more, but please, explain how it's "a new campaign's" worth of content.
btw, above came out of the OFFICIAL press release off guildwars.com

This is just wrong. Without additional slots, the expansion is simply 10$ more expensive than a standalone game.
It doesn't matter that there are no new professions, every single slot is very useful.
I would certainly prefer to pay 50$ for gw:en and get 2 slots than pay 40$ and get none.
It's simply unfair.

Well... i would love a new slot(havent bought one in ages), although we may not NEED a new slot, it sure would be nice. Since it is an expansion, yeah sure, i am expecting alot of content, not just a game to play through. But i havent really been thinking about the whole thing since i didnt know its release date. To tell the truth i really dont know what GW:EN will be like. Be like a c.4?Or really cool expansion

So far; what's the most # of slots you can possibly have anyway?
acidic
I think it would be fair to expect that there is at least 10 character slots if you bought all 3 campaigns (one for each primary for profession). But that is not the case, so with this 'expansion' I would hope they finally address this.

Sorry, Anet, but this is a deal-breaker. I'll wait you out till the price drops to about $30 before buying.
If there had even been 1 more slot I would have agreed to pay $40, but I can't be excited with this.
Let's see;
* There's loads of new dungeons to crawl. Good. Very good.
* There's lots of new heroes. Meh. Unless you plan on supporting 7-hero teams(please?), who really needs the new guys?
* No new classes. No problem-it's an expansion, and there isn't much that's not covered by the existing classes. That drops the price a bit, because those new classes take a LOT of time to get right.
* New skills, some pve-only. Nice. Can't wait for the price to drop. (I guess I can be a little-bit excited )
*No new slots. If you want slots just buy them, right? Those 2 slots turned this into a $60 game.
A $60 game with no new professions seems a little out of wack to me.
I would be satisfied with just 1 new slot.
That could either be used as storage for the new GWEN stuff or I could have used it to try a different profession.
There's already more profs than slots, and this could have been a way to let everyone have a new start-I know I'm not re-rolling any of my chars;even my mule is nearly a year old. If everyone got another slot or two lots of people would be playing that profession they always wanted to try, increasing the population everywhere. It might be bad for your servers but you'll more than make up for it in GW II sales.

how bout quit complaining and realize that its a whole new experience that you get to play limitlessly for 40 bucks.
Voltar
it makes sense to not have character slots but it would still be nice if the prerelease had 1 extra slot in the same way the nf one did.
it would be nice...also wouldn't mind a character-specific storage for the extra suits of armor and weapons i have accumulated.
would be nice...7-hero group would be nice too, but the reason for having multiple heroes of the same profession would be to have different builds with different runes.
i think the slot cap is (in addition to the ones you get with the games) 25...so that's 4+2+2+1 (with the prelease nf) = 9+25=34
34 if you bought the prerelease...i think.

I guess people forgot willingly that the money they get only comes from us buying their boxes. While we play for free, and they try to develop GW2 without a sure way of some revenue? I ain't saying that the people here should buy it, its their call, but I'll say "look i got some cool shit from my old characters on GW2, and you don't cause you wouldn't fork "10$ more than its worth". Which btw is way too narrow sighted.
Character slots are available to buy, so buy it or shut up and delete a character for gwen. Its not a game, they called it an expansion for a reason. It has content in relation to a full game, without the professions, without the noob land and beginning of a whole story (think about what I would mean by a whole complete story), it takes less work in the beginning, but its worth more fun and money.
I mean forget GWEN, sure, go buy WoW like so many ppl want to "run away" to or something. Be my guest, continue to pay them monthly for all I care. It's none of my business.
Last time I checked, this topic was a question from a player, he/she got their answer. So you people and your complaining about the woes of life and your wallet can stop. Shut up and leave this topic and make a new one so I have a goddamn choice what to click on and read. ... Maybe I should say it again for the slow minded... this isn't your topic, shut up and leave it alone.

All I can say is just add another Storage Tab for any new stuff we need/want to collect.

well, lets just say I hope that anet can live on their moneys from gwen for the 2 or so years it will take to get gw2 up and running.....and that they certainly wont miss my extra 3 accounts worth of profit since I wont be sticking around for gw2 after shelling out $40 for an expansion that will be little better than sf which was free!
gwen will be the last one I buy from them...[grumbles, no new slots, grumble, no new storage, grumble grumble]

When you take into account that the other games came with 2 character slots, this game costs SIXTY if you want the character slots, making it the most expensive GW game to date... and it is an expansion.
Since I will not be buying Gw2, I don't even know if I will get this expansion. It seems the Hall of Monuments is a major selling point and I could care less. If this is just a bunch of easy-as-heck missions, grinding, then reaching a DOA-style ridiculous area that is no fun at all.... meh.
Winterclaw
Here's my problem with the buy char slots on your own idea: we have no idea of the real cost to anet to include extra char slots with a game. By y'all's reasoning, factions or NF should have only cost us $29.95 if we wanted to buy a no-extra char slot version. But that doesn't seem likely considering those were two full chapters and all that and they haven't released non-extra pc slot versions of the games for people who are happy with 4 and don't want extra chars. And don't forget NF preorders and europe faction preorders had a bonus char slot for no extra money.
IMO there should be 2 char slots with GWEN so someone without any extra ones would be able to make one char type of each class if he wanted.

Surena
We don't get new classes, no new character skins, why should we get an additional slot?
There's obviously plenty of new content to experience and since Anet doesn't have a monthly fee to feed upon they're dependant on these sales. I mean, what more could you want?

Imaginos
I'm actually surprised that there are not going to be slots given with GWEN and that is making me rethink a purchase as money is tight right now.
I expected the following.
I expected the following.
- at least 1 new char slot if not 2.
- another tab in storage bin as per the prescience set with the other tabs (one per chapter you own).
- All the other stuff that was listed above (dungeons, skills, armor, weapons, monsters)

As for rewards, mini pets? They're a reward for having a character for 1 year intervals.
Also what about the weekly "events" you may not like all of them (I doubt anyone does), but at least they happen. Then there is also the bigger events, holidays, etc.
Also Anet allow you to play on there server free of charge, i'd say that is reward enough.
Before anyone comes along and says "GW isn't free we paid for it" I never said it was I said playing on there server is free NOT the game it's self. Paying for a game does not entitle you to online play, just look at all the offline only games that cost the same as GW.
Etta
I would rather have a free candy bar with every GW:EN box, instead of a character slot. That would make my journey back home to play it even more sweeter.
