You should not have to use an outside program to acheive an accomplishment in game. That's like saying you can ONLY play GvG if you have vent/ts. Is it beneficial? Sure. Should people who don't have it be prevented from playing PvP? No.
It's pretty much impossible to get 100% exploration without some sort of outside program.

second, time played does NOT mean you are not lazy.
third, I did all 3 maps without text mod..and only a SMALL (meaning <1% gained) from map comparisons. I say people have gotten spoiled/lazy in doing this title. It is not that hard....you scrape the edges for christs sake. and yes, you are lazy if you need a mod/unwilling to do it yourself. kthx

So people deserve this title more if they spend ages comparing it to maps form the web? (not saying you did just i'd guess the vasy majority did it this way)
rather then an in-game method of attaining an in-game title?
im sure many gw gamers would prefere not to use a mod in GW(altho nj to the lads that made the map mod,i've heard good things about it,i'm still hoping for an in-game method tho,call me old fashioned:P)

I used caps since people seem to have even worse eye site than mine! (if I am a noob then so be it, I really dont care what name you wish to call me as I am old enough to not care about name calling....thats very elementary schoolish to me. If I wish to use capitals that is my style and my decision you dont have to agree with it, but understand that not everyone will do things to please you). and GOOD FOR YOU for doing it the old fashioned way, I am happy for you and that there are people who can do it that way.
I have a few characters with 100% of tyria and cantha already....there was no text mod or even people helping others when I started that 2 years ago (my monk liked exploring when I made him, and when the titles started he was well over 90% already). I havent used any outside programs and only asked for help with one toon back when some nice guru people did this for thanks instead of ingame gold.
The gripe I have is not with text mod, its that people seem to think that it IS the only way now to get these titles....its not. My gripe is that this is the only title that you are left out in the cold as to how to get it when you have 99.8% and have hugged and kissed every wall in the whole continent enough times for the walls to think you are querr! And that there are areas that are not the norm to run thru (take the area in the north shiverpeaks mission where you need to get on the other road to get that last .%).....
and I am not really capable to switching between maps and comparing, I am blind in one eye and the other needs glasses to see 20/40 at best....just because I want a title that doesnt require me to buy tons of stuff (like the sweet tooth or wisdom) or rinse and repeat killing the same mobs over and over again (ss and lb) means I am lazy??????? Almost none of the titles require skill (expect maybe survivor but lazy people have found the way around that one as well, for the record mine didnt use ANY (for emphasis) scrolls to get theirs), though cartographer is one of the few that any one can get reguardless of how good they are at killing stuff or buying and selling. You have to physically go to all the spots, its not a title for lazy people.
I wouldn't mind a little % map-completion under each zones name. If you are having this much trouble with finishing cartography, I suggest looking into Texmod. Heres a link to the Official wiki explaining the program, including a link to download it and player-made mods, a direct link to the map mods themselves, and a Sample of the Cartography Made Easy, so you can quickly see if this is what you are suggesting:

I'm so sick of lazy people. Yes. Lazy. The GMC titles are EASY! If you do it correctly, you don't have to visit any area twice (except couple of missions). EVER.
You can only blame yourself if you just run through the areas and not hug the walls good enough. You do not need any exploits for any of the continents. And you don't need any special methods to get them, either (textmod, for example).
This has been discussed to many times it makes my face asplode. For the last time: Yes, the GMC titles are for grinders, and yes, it should be that way. No point in making something easier in an already easy game.

Once which would take considerable time and money to do. A similar and easier method might be: Post a percentage explored next to each explorable area's name. This way, if you get to 99.9% and need to know where the last 0.1% is at, you can look at your map. The name of the explorable zone would say: Kessex Peak (99.9%) while other areas would say things like Pockmark Flats (100%). That entirely murders the whole idea behind the cartographer title. Everyone with enough time on their hands can go to 90-95%, this is the last bit that actually makes it hard. And with TexMod, forums, fully uncovered maps on the inet and photoshop this is just a proof of your laziness mister.
