GW shutdown once GW2 arrives???

Hey everyone... sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section.

Has anyone heard or know if ANet is gonna shutdown the GW (and Factions/Nightfall) servers once GW2 hits the market? Personally I already have my copy of GW2 preordered.... but I know of a lot of my guildies that won't be getting GW2 anytime soon.

GW will live long after GW2 is released.

Do you have concrete proof? Or just making an assumption?

I would hope that they don't kill it!

It has been said by ANET on more than 1 occasion GW will continue.

and it was in the PCGamer magazine with all the Gwen and GW2 info. GW1 won't shut down

GW1 will be supported as long as people continue to play it (and presumably buy it) is pretty much the flavor of what Anet has said

Wow, preemptive much? You have already pre-ordered a game that doesn't come out until two years time? I hate to tell you but your guildies aren't the only ones that won't be getting GW2 any time soon.

What! you already pre-order it? You would do well to hold your breath til the game comes out. 600+ days to go.

They did say something along the lines of: "As long as there is a want to play Guild Wars, we will continue to support it"

Or something like that.
