Where are you getting 3x faction???
* In the Luxon defense map, Kaanai Canyon, Kurzick players will receive Kurzick faction points equal to twice their score.
kurzick lose at 300 faction which equals 600
* In the Luxon defense map, Etnaran Keys, Kurzick players will receive Kurzick faction points EQUAL to their score.
kurzick lose at 300 which means they get 300 (no bonus)
* In the middle map, Saltspray Beach, neither Kurzick nor Luxon players will receive a bonus.
no one gets anything extra
* In the Kurzick defense map, Grenz Frontier, Luxon players will receive Luxon faction points equal to their score.
luxon lose at 300 they get 300 (no bonus)

Update - Thursday, July 05, 2007
D8tura
-Loki-
Having just played around of Etnaren Keys as a Kurzick, losing at 398 and getting 796 Kurzick faction for losing, I'd say the update notes are wrong.

Yeah the wording so does not match what we get
I would have said it differently

How are the notes wrong?
"In the Luxon defense map, Kaanai Canyon, Kurzick players will receive Kurzick faction points equal to twice their score."
It does not say whether you have to win or not ... It only says that when playing in an enemy territory, the amount of factions you get at the end is equal to twice the amount of points you had when the game ended.

Well myself i love this update,
this means more will play when at a disadvantage, and evn if you lose you get more than before,
love the addition of the NPC in the alliance battle outposts, I started a thread about this and got what i asked for, much hppiness,
i also asked for incresed rewards for the disadvantaged in the threads about the ab, and i got that
I'm happy happy happy

It seems they missed out the word 'bonus' in the amount of faction you now get.
You get your points plus bonus faction equal to 2x your score at Kanaai.
i.e: lose with a score of 300 and get a bonus equal to 2x your score = 300 + 600 = 900.
It reads as if you leave with faction 2x your score, which would only be 600.
According to them Etnaran and Saltspray would both be giving just your points despite the different descriptions because faction equal to your score and no bonus are the same thing, lol.
They should have said bonus faction equal to your score at Etnaran and no bonus faction at Saltspray.
i.e: lose with a score of 300 at Etnaran and get 300 + 300 = 600. Lose with a score of 300 at Saltspray and get 300.
Just very bad, confusing wording from Anet.
To clarify, it is:
3x at Kanaai
2x at Etnaran
normal at Saltspray
2x at Grenz
3x at Ancestral

(I have not ABed since the update so I have no chance to test it like Loki)
The question lies whether the description is telling you how many points you get in total like D8tura and I assumed, or if what they mentioned is a bonus added onto your score at the end. If Loki is right, its the latter. Which actually would be kinda nice, since then fighting in deep territory would then effectively triple your score as a loser, making losing not as good as winning, but sure as hell making winning a hell of a lot better.
Example:
Luxon loss in Ancestral: 200 points + (200 *2) = 200 * 3 = 600
Luxon win in Ancestral: 500 + (500 * 2) + 1000 = 500*3 + 1000 = 2500
Not too shabby. Makes fighting in enemy territory worth fighting for in the first place. Home team still takes majority of points, but if they fail miserably the other team is going to be cheering all the way to the bank . Thats the way it SHOULD have been from the beginning to be honest, now there is incentive to play in grenz or even get to ancestral. Ever since the update to the winning faction last time, people quit once it switched to opposite territory, meaning it would almost never get to the deep territory. Wouldn't be surprised (if what I have said is how everything works according to Loki) if AB becomes more dynamic again.
Also, I never understood why people complain about leechers so much. I never really see many, most teams check for signs of life. Simple treatment, anyone who tries to join your team when you never advertised clearly is either botting teams or joining anything to leech. Don't hit accept, always talk before entering. Losing one game to a leecher? Kick him afterwards, find someone else. I have never had a leecher on my own team, so clearly my method works most of the time at least.
The real leecher problem comes in during the competitive missions, FA and JQ. No party formation, no ability to check for life, its easy to auto click enter. Getting one leech on your side is tough, but I have seen half my team become leechers. Leeching in AB, not a real big problem. Leeching in CMs, gigantic problem. No idea how to fix it though, but honestly it needs to be.

FINALLY A-Net added a faction rewards NPC in AB's so parties don't need to disband every few matches to cash in.
Yeah!
Yeah!
