I couldn't believe it at first. I was stunned to see the Festival Creature "Lesser Grasp" dropped 7-16 Req.9 Chromium Shards. Here is the screenshot.

I realize this could be HUGE. Yes I know this build is crap but I didn't intend to stumble onto Chromium Shards.

I just farmed them in HM on the final quest, where a load of them spawn in the cave, got a req.12 15^Enchanted Chromium Shards

. Unfortunetly they are very difficult to farm as a large group, because of "Fear me", the disrupting chop and the high dmg. The only very effective way was to use a touch ranger. I'm thinking a VwK Warrior might be able to grab a large number of them, but I don't have a warrior to use it

I was wondering if someone could confirm this.

vwk works. and they drop serpent axes aswell

Do you need to kill the naga's in order for the lesser graspings in the cave to spanw or can you run straight to them,also i find im getting slaughtered with the build that that laurson posted, i replaced sprint with generous was tsungrai and found it helped increase survivability by abit.

nope, killing the naga's is required.
I tried it with hero's, but didnt kill the naga's either :|

Ok first thing you want to do is add 3 heros.
1 Shield of deflection monk.
1 Meteor Shower Echo nuker.
If you are not a tank, then add a tank hero, make him Aspicious Parry deadly reposite and reposite.

Do this as you would do FoW or DoA. Let the tank enter the group and gain FULL aggro. Nukers blast each Naga group to dust.

Can't you just kill the naga in NM, then go take out the Lesser Graspings in HM?

Stupid me T_T. While I was in town, it showed that I only needed to go to the cave. It updates when you zone.

I have been farming them Naga in that last quest all night, and got a bunch of max gold Sunqua Blades, one is req 9 and 15^50, another req 9 and 15% while enchanted. Thing is, I don't think there is just one build that can solo both Naga and Grasp. Only profession I haven't tried soloing with is an Ele using armor skills and shockwave. My 105hp Rt/Mo can solo the Naga pretty fast, but get killed from gettin enchants stripped from Grasp in the cave. Only build I know that can kill the Grasp are a Shadow Form farmer build that uses Empathy and dagger skills. So the only way to really farm them Grasp in the cave in the last quest, is the Dual it with someone. I will be doing that today. I knew right off when I seen the quest that it was potential for good gold drops. Glad to see someone got something gold from Graspa also. I will try to farm both naga and grasp with an Ele build...

sooth mem they strip enchants if you have Mo as secondary so...i guess not....but if u have a second monk while you're on other secondary NOT affected by their finger of chaos then that's another story.
i'm a rit too i just find farming the naga's enough....got some nice sunqua blades off them...

I've been farming them with, plague touch warrior, eles, rits, dervs, and the best build that worked is amazingly a Touch Ranger.

and yes you have to clear the naga on HM also to kill the grasps

deadly paradox triple echo shadow form sin makes quick work of both the naga and the grasps

(55 mo/n SS insidious parasite makes faster work of naga)

I've only had minimal success with a Touch Ranger, using the npc as bait to draw off some damage. I've also tried a Blinding Surge Ele, SP-esque Sin, and VwK Warrior.

I've yet to try my Derv though. But my thoughts were to use Staggering Force + Ebon Dust Aura to minimize damage. Anyone care to try?

sweet derv build, loving it ^.^ have neglected my derv ever since i made it....
AV/SV terratank doesn't work for clearing cave? How long does it take to clear nagag with the derv build? I'm thinking E/A SF fire nukes but that's a group every 2 min.......

So what's the big deal about chromium shards? I know they are considered a rare skin but are they actually worth anything in the current economy?

I've had a set of req9 15^50 ones in storage for months now but never tried to sell them.

I farmed the grasps very easily with my assassin. Just kill the naga with heroes, flag them away, and then take on the grasps solo. I didn't even use any special solo build, just had critical defenses (I just had a standard death blossom combo and critical agility, critical eye, and way of the assassin, but pretty much anything works as long as you have that 75% chance to block) and killed them faster than they can kill me. Heal myself afterwards and repeat, killing one grasp at a time.

Fingers of Chaos tends to screw over many builds though, so keep that in mind.
