Is there an efective block skill usefull for a dervish in AB? Most of them require to not use skills or attack skills and I don't wanna give up on my attack skills.
Why I want to block is because is so anoying to get owned by every random SP sin. Mistic regen is not enough to counter all that degen and dmg. I've used that mirage skill(cant remember it's name) but it costs 15e and gives only 50% block.
Sorry if my post looks noobish but if warriors, rangers, sins can block, dervs should be able too. Even paragons can use soldiers defense.
block skill for dervs

Bassu
faithful intervention up, mystic regen up, vital boon up, aura of thorns up, conviction up and any SP sin can kis your ass. This is my defense/offense line for ABing. Other skills are Reaper's Sweep, Mystic Sweep and Victorious Sweep.

Yes your post does look noobish. There's a reason why you have a secondary, and there's a reason why not every class is able to 1v1 or have the same kind of skills. Maybe I should start a thread about how necros have ZERO block stances?
WarKaster
why would you want to block when you can Perma Blind with EDA?

Not everyone chooses to use EDA as their elite..
But I'm afraid that you're left with Mirage Cloak as your only blocking enchantment. You'll have to rely on your secondary class or simply by going Faithful intervention like Bassu points out. Shield Bash tends to work, but if you're not using Warrior as your secondary class, that obviously won't work.

You can always just use Distracting Blow and simply interrupt the chain.
That or /Me for Hex Breaker. Pretty much every assassin relies in a hex lead in AB... so that messes them up, and you have no real stances as a derv to hinder you. SnipiousMax
I'd say if it was SP sins giving you problems, the Hex Breaker is definately the solution. SP has a 20 second recharge while Hex Breaker recharges in 15 seconds. You'd have to switch to a /Mesmer secondary, but heck, if they are enough of an annoyance....

ok thanks
I'll try distracting blow first and also take wild blow. ~ Dan ~

and what SP sin rolls around without expose defenses too?
pffft, u don't need dist blow, u don't need to block. mystic regen should give u enough to negate the degen, or atleast power over it, and then 1 intervention can save u from the dmg. that is all u need... candyman_sb
hmm..
This is my AB build: Scythe: 12+1+1 Earth: 8 Mysticism: 10+2 1.victorios sweep 2.reapers sweep 3.wild blow 4.heart of furry 5.mystic regen 6.vital boon 7.conviction 8.pious haste So I should swap conviction with watchfull intervention? I wanted to use conviction as a cancel stance for pious haste when I reach my target and then use heart of furry and the other enchantments only if I needed them. Without conv. I would lose an enchantment when pious haste ends. I wanted to replace pious haste but I cant find a better run skill. Wind has some but they require to many points. Should I change anything in the build? ~ Dan ~
