I currently use All chat to recruit for our guild. I always wait for my message to leave the screen, before reposting. Is recruiting for your guild in ALL chat considered spam?

Spam is posting your message several times in a short period of time.

The question is whether you are trying to do some kind of ingame transaction...that should go into Trade chat.

Guild Recruitment doesn't seem to fit that category, so I think it's supposed to go in All Chat. Not 100% sure though.

To be effective and not-as annoying, try leaving only one message per district in the 4 main areas: Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center, Kamadan, and Temple of Balthazar. By the time you make a whole lap, new people will be in the first districts you messaged.

Do you sit in the same town for 20 minutes doing it over and over and over? If you do, you're just annoying people, including possible recuits.
Maybe message 3-4 times with a minute or two between, and then switch towns/districts.

Make sure you describe your guild a little. Someone who's spamming "guild recuttin" will get less responses than someone who actually takes the time to use more than 2 keys on their keyboard. Maybe say how many members, alliance, pve or pvp or both, etc.

Take a look around town and see if there's many unguilded people. If there's only a couple it might be quicker to pm them each. Just don't get ticked off if you don't get a response. I always pm back "no thanks", unless it's from one of the guild spammers. Then I don't bother replying at all.
