barrage groups tend to be a lot faster. Standard barrage builds (barrage, something like lightning reflexes/throw dirt, 1-2 intterupts, charm, comfort, res, free slots) running /w (save yourselves) /rt (splinter weapon, fomf) /n (blood ritual) /mo (rebirth) /p (go for their eyes, signet of return) are welcome. There should be 1-2 EoEs and a few dust/barbed traps spread throughout the team's rangers too.
And wow, that wiki build is a pretty crap version of the trap/nuke team.

Here are the templates I use:
Fav Winds Ranger:
[skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill][skill]Tripwire[/skill][skill]Barbed Trap[/skill][skill]Favorable Winds[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Flesh of My Flesh[/skill]
[FW Ranger;OggkcdYX2KqziBjRcVOYHazm5iB] (I use a major expertise rune on my ranger in PvE)
Attributes should have 9 expertise, 15-16 marks, then the rest should be between Wilderness and Channeling. Try to get Channeling to 9 or 10 if possible. This build runs with relatively low wilderness since the traps here work mostly to snare rather than deal damage.
Winnowing Ranger:
[skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill][skill]Flame Trap[/skill][skill]Dust Trap[/skill][skill]Winnowing[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Flesh of My Flesh[/skill]
[WW Ranger;OggkcdYb2JqziBjtcSOPHazm5iB]
Attributes should have 9 expertise, 9-10 channeling, just enough marksmanship to meet the req of your bow and as high WS as possible. Having a Wilderness mask with a sup rune along with a Marks mask with a shup rune to switch between greatly helps this build.
EoE Ranger:
[skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Viper's Nest[/skill][skill]Edge of Extinction[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Flesh of My Flesh[/skill]
[EoE Ranger;OggkYtXXGKmziBjJc2lQHazm5iB]

Lately I've found that running a group without a MM (replacing the MM with a trapper ranger or nuker) tends to work as well as or better than a group with a MM. In this case, the pets can be dropped from the builds in favor of bringing more traps or defensive stance skills (whirling defense or Lightning Reflexes). Sometimes it also helps to have a full trapper in addition to the group. Two variants of this build I would suggest would run with full expertise and wilderness (16 WS and 13-14 Exp) using either Spike Trap or Echo with Arcane Echo in addition to Serpent's Quickness and all WS attributed traps.
