Ppl don't seem to relaize what a great game this is for the measly 30-50 bucks you paid. Hats off to anet, great job on the event.

Just people either running around like crazy people showing off their hats (Like me!) or people swearing because they missed the last event time.

Pretty dreadful if you ask me, ANET needs people to be in the districts at the same time as these events to take out the garbage, for garbage I mean for those 20+ people swearing and typing things that make themselves look retarded.
Did you forget the quests? The snowball arena? The present running? The collector items? If you didn't do them, it's your own fault.

And would you rather Anet didn't do anything at all? After all, all you get is people swearing, right? Face it. People swear. If a few noobs complaining spoiled the event for you, then frankly, you need to grow up a bit.

Anet tried to do something for us, and I appreciate the effort they put into it at no cost to us. It was their holiday gift to us players, and I personally don't complain to the gift giver about how much the gift sucked, even IF it did. Personally, I found the event to be quite a pleasant diversion from my usual play, and I look forward to any new events they have planned for us. Thank you, Arenanet.

Anyhow, back on topic...

I have a storage issue as well, most of my storage is Candy Canes, Candy Cane Shards, S Summoners, Eggnog, Spiked Eggnog, Candy Cane Weps, Antlers, Santa Hat.
Well, if it's worth something, then why don't they sell it? If it's for a friend, why don't they give it to a friend? Point is, keeping something because it's worth something is self-defeating. Sell the stuff that you're keeping because you're planning on selling them, and sell the stuff that you don't need.

If most of your storage is used up by Candy Canes, Candy Cane Shards, Snowman Summoners, Eggnog, etc... then it's your problem. Most of those items are useless, and no matter how hard to find they may be, they're still useless. Candy Cane Shards will serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever when the Candysmiths are gone. Stuff like Candy Canes, Eggnog, and such are consumable, so either they'll sit there doing nothing, or pretty soon they'll be gone too. The only useful item out of all of those are Candy Canes. I have no idea why you would have more than one candy cane weapon per character (okay, two if you absolutely love staves, or three if you're a warrior, and absolutely insist on having a candy cane axe, sword, AND hammer).

Point is, the stuff we got for the event is there for the novelty ONLY. You're under no obligation to keep them. You have to make choices in the game, just like you have to make choices in real life. What you decide to keep with you is one such choice.

Who said I didn't do the the snowball fights? I did all of the stuff Wintersday and some what liked it. Every person has likes and dislikes about the events, therefore what I typed out before is not some writen word of the only truth or something...

Yes it is my problem I have a lot of stuff in my storage box, and? I'm I the only one complaining about lack of storage? Use your search button and take a lot for yourself, it's no diffrent then complaining about assassin ideas for the class, or complaining about getting elves.

"Well, if it's worth something, then why don't they sell it? If it's for a friend, why don't they give it to a friend? Point is, keeping something because it's worth something is self-defeating. Well I'm sorry if your on for 12 hours + a day and your with all your friends at the same time all day online, I however am not, so I might have an item untell I get around to giving it to him. People have lives... and for me and my friends it isn't this game.

"And would you rather Anet didn't do anything at all? After all, all you get is people swearing, right? Face it. People swear. If a few noobs complaining spoiled the event for you, then frankly, you need to grow up a bit."

It didn't spoil the event for me, I think you need to go and re-read what I said, I was stating that people are cursing and swearing and doing their "Porn Talk" and what not, if you had little kids playing and they where seeing this and you would aprove of them reading it, then by all means all the power to ya.

If ANET did nothing thats their option to do so, however they are supplying an online game people paid for and they have also stated they get their good ideas from those that complain about things that need to be changed. If no one said a word things would stay the same and people would find some where else to go, however have you forgot, Guild Wars is still in BETA. In other words the people that complain to add new things are the people that are giving the ideas to improve the game for everyone else.

"Point is, the stuff we got for the event is there for the novelty ONLY. You're under no obligation to keep them. You have to make choices in the game, just like you have to make choices in real life. What you decide to keep with you is one such choice."

It's a game, if I got rid of all my items and started fresh it wouldn't matter. Believe me a Hat isn't worth nothing when it's a virtual item... Too some people it may mean something to them.

EDIT: To make a better example, I did get rid of all my stuff on my w/m, and started fresh just to get some cash for my archer. Now I'm playing a w/m with no armor but still having fun, so the items really don't mean much, since it can all be replaced.

Wow, with the amount of crap we got for Christmas now sinking in, I think it's incredible how much anet has outdone itself on just the second time around. I for one can't wait to see what the next event will bring.

However, I have to agree that something needs to be done about storage space. Another character slot or expanded storage wouldn't hurt.

well i figure that since ive been playing this game for so long. and will probably be playing it a few years from now. (i hope) i might as well be able to keep the fun things i want to keep. im a bit of a collector. i likes to collect nifty things. one of these things is the holiday items. i have them all.

and ya know what candy cane weapons are and will be very very very useful.
id say a cc sword or axe will mix nicely with a iw me/necro dont you?

and to say that i should trim down all my characters to just 4 weapons? your insane. on my warrior i pvp, stance farm, and occassionally solo farm. not to mention just general game play. that requires me to either constantly switch out the runes on one set of equipment or have 4 sets. then theres the fact sometimes i play hammer KD or use swords or axes. storage is a serious issue for some long term players who like to play the game their own way and collect the fun items introduced into the game.

3 years from now when i whip out my 2005 pumpkin hat on halloween and im one of the few with them. whose going to be laughing at the "noob" who had storage problems?

and i would gladly spend another 20 bucks on more storage space or another character slot or two. but ive already played enough characters all the way through the game. i dont need a second account.

under no circumstances am I calling you a noob. I would just like to point out that a word "collector" that you used is a 'bit' of an underestimation here. the whole idea behind "collecting" rare event-only stuff is so you can sell it for more that it cost you in future. it's that simple. greed is an ultimate engine that powers most online role playing games.

having played GW since WPE, I can say that the current storage size if more than enough for as many as 90% of players. perhaps the only possible improvement would be increasing the amount of money that can be kept in storage, but then again, it would only benefit those who sell in-game gold for real money. so I say, keep things thee way they are now.

unless of course ANet plan to add more character slots to the accounts...

I love the game. If people want to pay real money for storage in GW, then I think Anet should let them. Then Anet can invest that money in making an even better GW for those who don't care about more storage.

Granted 5000 is a bit much, but getting garg skulls for future sales, is called investing, not scamming. Personally I won't sell any of my 300 untill the price hits 1k each.

ignis, BTW who appointed you GW god, people can play any way they want. If you have a style of play great, play that way, but let us play the we want to.

With FoW going for more almost 2 million plat, if you have to buy ectos,
generik, I say congrats got a couple of sets.

The whole holiday event (including the days before the actual Wintersday) was a nice change of scenery and just plain fun.

More storage would be great... Call it a complaint if you want, but I don't think anyone would say NO to more storage space.

While the winter holiday event was great, it wasnt as good as the Halloween Event. The Mad King event was done a lot better because it was interactive and almost everyone got stuff. This Wintersday event was just standing around while everyone tried to make a mad dash to grab stuff. Sorry but it was boring. But putting any event in is a good thing.

kindly point out where in my posts am I giving anyone directions as to how to play and what to do? I couldn't care less about people's play style, it just ticks me off when folks whine about things like storage not being large enough (which would, in fact, mean ANet's open support for farming and, in case of those special-event-only items, scamming)

nobody here likes being ripped off, and yet it seems that discussing scamming is more or less encouraged here. I've seen threads discussing possible Halloween and holiday item prices in future.

as for FoW armor, not only can you go with other types of armor (I have never heard of FoW armor being a compulsory must-have), but if your ass itches badly to get it, there are many other more legitimate ways of earning money.

I hope Gaile's mention of a Holiday Storage was something real. All I can think of lately is a large storage box for each of my characters that has unlimited space, but only for the special holiday items that came from the events.

*Sigh* It seems some people have no gotten our points yet. We would like a Storage for Event Items because it takes up the space we have already. Now for the storage itself, I wouldn't store a billion things in it, however when I find good items I like to keep them with me for a while to see if my Guild wants the items before I pass them off, or my friends, even if I'm going to auction it.

I'm keeping Candy Cane Shards, so? I'm trying to get the hole Candy Cane Weapon Set for my buddy. Just because we store a lot of things doesn't make us idoits. Some people will play the game just with what they got, other's wil pack rat it in, however I'm no pack rat. When me and my buddys go out and farm for a bit, they rarley see my pick up anything unless it's a purple, gold, ect... then I sell them unless I don't need it or the Guild wants it. However, what takes most of my storage are my weapon sets, armor sets, runed armor sets. So I wouldn't just delete or sell these to save space.

What I'm doing for now is I got a Char. with the two bags and rune of holding to act as a bit of a bank for now. Some of us also have like 3-4 Char. we play, and since they share storage you do the math and see how long it takes to be full with weapon sets and what not.

yeah, and each char adds their own backpack, bags, and pouch, and feeds off the same piles of material, ectos, etc.
just because you have 4 chars doesn't mean you have to have 4 seperate ecto piles.

hey, I've had storage issues in every crpg I've ever played, but I'm not going to beat up anet for putting in santa hats because of it.

... Please show me where I posted and was stating ANET should be beaten up for putting in Santa Hats? First of all this seems to be more of a flaming tread, well it may turn into one very soon. If ANET made more storage please tell everyone that wants more storage how it would be in a bad effect for people who don't want it? I see 100% Postive from uping storage, nothing bad about it so why get all angry at people who want more storage?

First of all I was happy with the Hats, however to me their nothing speical and I would get rid of them if needed, however I would perfer to keep my Event Items.

This is all a personal prefence, some people want to collect more and some people don't, so if we would like more storage whats the harm is stating that there isnt enough, but like I stated before, please give me some reasons on how it would be bad for you if we had more storage?

I really believe a lot of the people who are disagreeing are because they get some magical idea that we are bashing ANET, if this was true we wouldn't play the game would we? I have no problem with ANET, I have a problem with Storage.

My storage is actually kind of full with candy cane, eggnogs, spiked eggnog, and snowman summon. But pretty soon, i'll sell these items or end up using them. Bottom line, the event is great and for those people that have bunch of items, you can either keep them or just sell it to other people. Like other posters here said, its your choice to either keep those x-mas items or just toss them out.

as I have mentioned before, increasing storage would encourage more farming and the game will eventually turn into a distorted model of the real world. farmers will dominate and there will pretty much be no room left for your everage Joe that wants to play the game. look far and play deep and you'll understand why ANet has made storage as large as it is now and why they are not increasing it. and hopefully, they won't.
