Gamer Point Progression
Shayne Hawke
I was thinking a few moments ago about how many points you needed to get from one level to the next, and I found that it went by adding Fibonacci numbers. I went to rank 12 that I found on the Gamer Title discussion page of the wiki. When I made a table, it looked like this:
1k - Skillz
2k - Pro
4k - Numchuck
7k - Mad
12k - Uber
20k - Gosu
33k - 1337
54k - iddqd
88k - T3h Haxx0rz
143k - Pure Pwnage
232k - These skillz go to
376k - Real Ultimate Power
It's already incorrect, because we know 1337 Skillz to be at 32,500 points. So, I made a slightly different table that scaled down larger values.
1k - Skillz
2k - Pro
4k - Numchuck
7k - Mad
12k - Uber
20k - Gosu
32.5k - 1337
52.5k - iddqd
85k - T3h Haxx0rz
140k - Pure Pwnage
225k - These skillz go to
365k - Real Ultimate Power
This is pure speculation, but I thought it might interest some people

1 up and 2 down
Looks like a nice table, I am guessing your table is the one on the bottom and the wiki table is the one on the top? Well if your table is right I will be glad because that means I wont need as many points to max out the title.

"The third rank of the title, Numchuck Skillz, appears to be a reference to Napoleon Dynamite. Nunchucks are martial arts weapons, which are mispronounced as "numchucks" in the movie"
"In the sixth rank, the word Gosu is Korean. It is a common word in Asian languages and literally means "a high hand". The term is often used to describe a person with great skill in martial arts or in Go. It has now been adopted into English because it became highly used in multiplayer games because of Korea's influence in online gaming."
"iddqd is the DOOM2 cheat for Godmode"
and haxz0rs is just some silly leet speek word. (probaly indicating hacked gameplay when used as Haxz0rs skills)

Certain titles are way out of reach of 99% of the constituency and require just sick amounts of time & effort.... this is one.
Seems to make little sense to me but whatever.
While initially a fan of titles, my enthusiasm has waned greatly , as the problems caused by some of them have become much more tangible.

I guess might just end up at numchuck skill in a year or two.PvP Titles are sure crazy.
Maybe those mini-game in GW:EN count toward gamer title tracks.

I like the idea of titles... but some of these are crazy for casual gamers to max. I've played (what I feel to be) a lot of Rollerbeetle racing... and still have yet to achieve Level 2 (Pro).
With an average of getting 3 points per rollerbeetle race... and assuming every race (including waiting for start times, etc.) takes just five minutes... that's just 36 points per hour. So... it would take about 55 hours just to hit level 2. Not sure if my calculation is right or not... but that just seems pretty crazy... especially when mini-games are only available at special events (so you really have to squeeze those hours in a short amount of time).
I am in awe and amazement at people able to max out the title... and envious that they have so much gaming time.
Going off-topic a bit... I have to say that I have never raced the same track over-and-over again in a game so much in a short period of time... it's absolutely mind-numbing!

It's worth pointing out that nothing beyond rank 7 ("1337 Skillz") has been confirmed. The others were flashed by a dev in an alpha test server, but there's no guarantee that they'll be implemented in the game. I would certainly hope not or this title will never be maxed by even the most obsessive gamer.
I spend about as much time with the GW mini-games as anyone and have only achieved around 14,000 Gamer points. Obviously other people have reached into 20k territory, but that pace still wouldn't come close to cutting it. Even if the best gamers were able to put on 35k or so a year towards the title you'd be looking at over 10 years to hit the theoretical max. It doesn't help that snowball arena - easily the best place to rack up substantial gamer points - is only open for a couple of weeks a year.
Regardless of the Gamer title, I'd be happy if ANet made the mini-games available more often, or even sponsored tournaments built around them. I can understand not making them always available ("Absence makes the heart grow fonder," as they always say), but it would certainly be nice to see these highly enjoyable games making a greater impact on the GW landscape. After 2+ years of playing GW, nothing gets me up for logging on more than a few rounds of beetle racing, dragon nest, or snowball/dragon arena.
