What do I actually need to get attribute to 20?

A mirical

16 is the maximum and can be gained from a +1 head gear and a superior rune

20? Easy...

16 Base - 12, +1 headgear, +3 superior rune...
Then a Golden Egg, to 17.
Your profession's blessing, to 18
Here... Necros and Eles have it easy - Glyph of Elemental Power or Awaken the Blood boosts Blood/Curses or Fire/Air/Water/Earth to 20.

Alternatively...
Get the Lunar Blessing from a Lunar Fortune, to 19 base.
Then use a +1 attribute (20% chance) item, and get lucky

Don't know what mirical is. If you want to go higher than 16, you can but depend on your class as well. Ele and Necro have skills that can make your attribute go higher than 16. You can also pay for a blessing at res point to get an extra att point for a certain limit amount of time. Using a certain festive item help as well. +1, 20% weapon also help but it's a bit random.

Edit: Alex beat me to it, in greater details as well. I like them to find out most things for themself first, you see.

Hate to say it but his class is listed as W/Mo
Therefore you can't reach 20

... He sure can.
Everything I said, but with a shield with +1 (20%) Tactics/Strength if going for one of them, or a weapon of weapon mastery if going for 20 in sword/axe/hammer.

JeniM is saying it would take a miracle to get your attribs to 20. However reading the last few posts we can see that it is a little easier than that.

Are we sure he really meant getting the attribute to 20? Perhaps he just mistook the 20 needed to get from 11 to 12?

I am not stupid, of course I did mean 20.
As in GuildWiki every skill's power is shown up to attribute of 20

Thats because thats the theoretical limit, anything over 16 is not permanent.

Thats not the point though. He wanted to know how to get his attributes up to 20, and now he knows. :P

Yeah, but he should know that that isn't something pratical he should do every time he plays (nor is it something you can do in PvP).

You still can't get to 20 as a warrior
Only strike at att 20 once per 5 skills if lucky

See here, the theoretical maximums a class can reach:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Attribute

Elementalists have it easiest. Necros for blood and curses are the same. In both cases 21 is the max.

Other attributes are more limited to either 19 or 20 max.

... A 20 is still a 20. It's all about luck, especially when taking Lunar Fortunes into account, too.

Warriors can get 20.

No-one ever said it was practical.
