Add your heroes to your party. Hit k to bring up the skills menu, then next to your characters picture at the top you'll see your heroes. Click on their picture to bring up their skills and voila you have where you can edit your heroes skills.

You can use any skill that you have previously unlocked in the game for your Heroes.

See the Hero build section on this site - best to keep it simple
