As some of you may or may not know, E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) is going on this week. Its a yearly event where game makers can showcase new and upcoming games.

Does anyone know if ANet is participating, and if so, what are they showing?

Actually, the NCsoft booth (where ArenaNet demoed last year) was part of the reason the E3 committee switched to the more personal function; the band NCSoft commissioned was too loud. My guess is that NCSoft wasn't pleased.

Plus, anything NCSoft could do would be overshadowed by that Halo 3 Single-Player trailer and Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl release dates...

Anyone who shows anything at the new format E3 will just be overshadowed by Crysis!

According to most of the media outlets, NC Soft is supposed to be showing off new new stuff at E3. That includes Eye Of The North.

Doesn't really matter, E3 is going to be about as exciting as a CPA convention this year.

I'm reading on the engadget E3 blog that NCSoft is partnering with Sony for PS3.

How cool would that be if GW was also ported to the PS3?

I would hate to play with a PS3 monk. Reaction times of 7-8 seconds. GG to any assassin. Not much different than RA really.

Oh man... I can only hope that the earthquakes opened some sort of "lost world" of lush jungles and huge reptiles

I don't pay attention to E3 anyways, so I don't care. I just read PC Gamer and look at stuff on the internet, no need to go the a big convention thingy.

Yaga, out of curiosity... where do you think that PC Gamer and online sources get THEIR information? -_-

The answer: E3!

I think that was Yaga's point. He doesn't need to go/pay attention to the convention itself since he will get all the info from his regular sources.

E3 was fun, but it's over. The E3 you guys hear about for this year (and in the future) is purely a "serious business" convention.

But I'm sure Anet will be there, as will NCSoft and company.

There's a funny story there for those who care to go digging for it. It was a really fun booth to be at, dispite the high noise level. NCSoft wasn't complaining. Sega next door complained, and then broke out the sound monitors and reported NCSoft when the band went 1 decibal above the limit. Then some NCSoft executive took the stage, read the fine notice, told everyone there that Sega and the E3 officials were being whiny, and had the band crank it up way past the limit for their last show of the event just to spite them.
