GWEN Interface

Anyone know if it'll look different? AkA the art design on skill bars, extra buttons/options, etc.? It would be nice to see a change in the expansion instead of just seeing extra world content, I wanna see my HUD (heads up display) changed too.

Beta interface was better anyway.

The interface has changed several times since release of the first guild wars. None of the changes were linked to a chapter so I don't think that would change.
If they were going to make any changes it would just come out in an update rather than with the expansion and all people with guild wars accounts would benefit from it.

That's true, but you would think it would be different this time, it's an actual expansion, we would have an advantage rather than having a similar campaign compared to another.

You know, they should spend a bit of time, making maybe 3-5 different template of HUD available. I mean not EVERYONE likes the interface, I do, but that's different. I mean, a lot of games have options to change the interface.

yes but they update it when each new chapter comes out. so technicly it is part of the expansion cause everyone needs the update for new expansion related stuff to work

I'm not expecting any drastic changes.

The windows decoration and buttons changed right before Factions I believe. The meters and a couple of enhancements came later after Nightfall was released.

Honestly, what can they improve upon? The corner map? Skill buttons?

Well... the community can mod their gw.dats now.. So expect somethign from that. I know that theres one currently in production right now.

Wow that reminds me.. I played the beta weekend and I loved the interface then, and when i got GW i wondered where the hell it went...

I had totally forgot about that. I wonder if there is some sort of mod that would change it back to that?

Hopefully the login changes. Yes that isnt interface but the interface really hasnt been changed since nightfall save the skill casting bar.

Point of clarity - you can't mod your gw.dat file. What you CAN modify is the image 'skins' for appearance. Modding is the brand new craze, so those who want a new look may soon get their wish. There are already quite a few examples in Community Works and the Screenshot exposition.
