Leeching may not be bannable, but scripts are
Be Vigilant
I simply cannot remember the last time I joined a game in Dragon Arena or Fort Aspenwood that had a full team of active players. There's always the exact same people there running their scripts while AFK. They ruin everyone elses games, and instead of being punished by ANet, they're rewarded with free balth faction, lux/kurz faction, gamer points, and victory tokens.
I know this comes up a lot, but the problem is only getting worse the longer this goes unpunished. I know the worst abusers have been reported by tons of people, including myself, and yet nothing happens -- they continue to run their afk scripts all through the night.
Has no ANet employee ever played a game of Dragon Arena or Fort Aspenwood? I see no other possible explanation for this huge problem to persist. It's so disheartening to think that a game company doesn't care enough about its game to resolve the problems ruining it.

I've yet to see a bot in dragon arena... a couple leechers here and there, but no bots...

You realize how leechers get in to arenas over, and over and over again for 16 hours straight right?
They're running mouse macros.

why not implement sth like a pop up screen to enter code only recognize by human eye? If player fail to enter it correctly 3 time, get kick from game. If kick in this way >3 time, ban for whole day.
*** The pop up is initiated by team member who vote for afk player. And one can only be voted out few time in a match.
How does that sound?

If we find a leecher on our team, we normally will win if the other team is rubbish or leave it to the leecher to get owned.

The only way to stop afk bot is to introduce this annoyance where only human can perform, not script.
Besides, the voted kick also trigger ban if player successively afk and fail to enter correct code.
Wildi
yea right lets add annoying popups, sign here mr president

Actually there is a 45-60 second timer before matches (AB) so thats more than enough time to enter a code, no code before game starts = kicked
Can't see it hurting real players any more than the last failed attempt to stop scripts (loot scale)

I agree, if it's too good of an idea, it's not good enough.
Anet will find a way. Just give it time. Remember that there is STILL 2 (SCREAM!) years til GW2 comes out. And they haven't stopped looking into things yet. No matter how big/small a problem is, they see/will see it.
Well, I'm outta here. No sense listening to these cry babies anymore. I've seen it all, I've experienced it all. I'm happy that Anet has developed what I can still call THE BEST MMOG IN THE WORLD for many years to come. Simple as that.
If you sit back and reflect upon the countless hours you've been playing and finally realize that the positive aspects of GW outweigh the negatives by at least 95%, you'd probably STFU for once (yes, all of you, not just the OP. not just Joe Blo. But every single one of you).
If it's not broken, don't break it!
Normal Mode Party of 8 rewards should = 50% of what party of 8 in Hard Mode gets to even out the playing field imo. To get people to actually play regularly again. And not feel far inferior to their Leet counterparts.
Everything else, to me, is acceptable. And I thoroughly ENJOYED all 146,400 minutes of my life in the GW world.

Leeching/Scripting isn't/shouldn't be allowed JUST LIKE SPAM ISN'T ! When the topic was SPAM everyone whined about "not being able to talk in towns" and "oh I soo hate spammers, I wish they would all be dead and buried", and now everyone just ignores leeching????
YOU DON'T EXIST, YOU BUNCH OF BIASED FOOLS!
Guild Wars is starting to look like a soap opera and it's making me sick. I once really loved this game, I'm now starting to hate it, and the people in it.
