Lag in Australia

This is primarly a question/ thread for Australians and New Zealanders

Ok it Friday 13th at 11:27am (GMT +10)
And I'm unable to play, the lag is that bad. If I'm not rubberbanding I'm running around a frozen district. And forget doing a mission or jump into a instance.

My average ping is 1,000. and its been a week since I've seen a green dot.

Now I know other places are having issues with connections and stuff, but I fail to see why Australia would have such a issue.

So are any other Aussie/Nzers having a problem?

Mods: I fully support closing this thread if it goes too far off topic or results in conflict.
And If you think I posted in the wrong section please move it, but since its an open question to Aussie players I thought riverside was best.

hey mate

I was on this morning with no major lag spikes or drama's . . last night we did 3 HM missions in factions and again had no major issues as well .. my pings usually mid 300's or so.

One place I do find problems is in AB .. it can be rubberband city at times

Hallmar, where you at? If you don't want to name a location just generalise,

maybe its a QLD connection thing. I tracert and found I go thru 3 brisbane places and then 2 sydney before stopping at an Asia hub (I think) strangely enough best I could find it was located (Or it's offices were) in Milton back in QLD. :S

And today its wasn't lag spikes, most times some southern guildie will come on Alliance with "LAGGG!" (Some thing we type I guess when its a freezed moment) and I get enough time to say @#$% before I spike with lag.

But today it was constant, like playing in quicksand.

Im in QLD too mate...my lowest ping this last month has been 500-600... with it rocketing to 3,000 at times.

Some intermittent rubber-banding too.

I've never had 'green' ping either; during my whole time in the game, despite the $110/month I'm charged by Telstra. >

I'm in NSW regional...
Last night I had the worst Lag i've ever experienced in my whole 4 weeks of GW!...LOL...i think it was 120,000m/s when i last checked. I was half way through a mission and i kept running up the same path over and over like on that movie groundhog day!! then it just froze my character completely......I was also wondering whether it was just my ISP or a regional issue.
Being a relatively new player, I'm interested, does this sort of thing happen often?

Bris-Vegas here. Just ran a quick test, average ping was about 475 ms in both Euro and Int which is a bit higher than normal.

I never get a green ping unless i play in International Districts. Int pings average 200ms for me, usually it's mid 300's to Euro.

I'm on iiNet if that helps.

Lag for me this side has been manageable if you could call it that
except the long rubber banding really ticks me off plus the running then
all of a sudden slow down to a stop and can't move just turn on the spot.
most of this happened in the last 2 weeks or less and "Seams" to be getting worse but could be wrong
I have adsl2+ at about 9.75Mbps.
Next time I login I'll get some ping data

StealthC, I'm from Melbourne, and the lag is horrific this past week.
Average ping 500-1500.
Are you sure you know what lag is.
Are you sure you are not just used to crappy conditions?

I come from a longtime FPS background, I can identify even the slightest lag problems.

anyway I voted in Gailes post about the lag problems, and the lag still remains, however it's possible that it's out of ANets hands to fix whatever the problem is, maybe something that is not in their control.

No.

I am absolutely certain my ping has not effected my gameplay once in the past week. I can't recall it going above 400ms

Just jumped on now - having spikes of 1000 on and off.

Never encountered this before ever.

Hmmm, I'm in Melbourne and have small lag-spikes, but nothing major. It's usually just a few extra seconds (like, 10-15) at loading screens (which is a bi*** in PvP), but when I'm in and loaded it's not too bad for me.

NSW rurel area, my ping has dropped from 500 to 100 in the past week, now I see a grene dot instead of orange/red 80% of the time.

QUEENSLANDER!
I'm also in Brisbane, and untill yesterday I was also with iiNet. (switched to Optus 'cause they offered a great ADSL2 package)

I get about a 250 ping on the US server, and around 300 on EU. Over the last week I haven't noticed any rise to my ping, but the lag spikes do seem to happen more frequently.

I get around 300-500 ping every day here in Cairns, QLD.
Nothing out of the ordinary today.
