Just a comment to all those who continually complain about GW and Anet, and how it's dying, and those who think Anet are clueless, etc.

1. No game holds your interest forever, if it did, it wouldn't be a good thing, because why would you buy the next one? I've been playing GW for two years and that really ranks it among the longest gaming experieces of my life (I've played games since pong days, through early pc games, to consoles and back to pcs again). Probably only two or three games have come close or lasted longer.

2. GW is great value for money, if you were to play a subscriptiion game you would spend what $120+ per year, if you were playing stand alone console type games, most of those last 20-40 hours, how many hours do you have on GW?

3. What's important to you, is not to the next customer, and everybody can't be satisfied, I for one could not care less about anything PvP, yet all I hear is bitching from PvP players when the PvE IMO is often affected by decisions for them

4. Yes the game has room for improvement (IMO storage issues, balance, Auction House, etc), but so has every game ever created, and Anet has made changes that saved the game for me at several points (heroes and storage changes high on my list)

5. It doesn't require stupid levels of hardware, I've been playing GW on a 3 year old PC quite happily without needing to upgrade and have a great graphical experience.

So just to put it all together, yes we could all list our pet GW peeves, but sometimes just sit back and enjoy the fun Anet has provided, the hours you have spent, etc.

If the game has lost it's appeal to you, maybe it's time to move on, or maybe we'll see you again for GW:EN or GW2, but it gets tiresome when 9 out of 10 threads on this forum is just a bitch fest.

I agree with the OP. You are a brave person for stating such as you are about to get flamed to no end.

The search engine sucks here.

I myself am glad to see a positive post once in a while in the sea of negative ones.

Speaking of which, where is this weeks " OMG loot scaling I'm so broke " post of the week?

Yeah, I kind of agree with the OP on all points except (3). A.Net really went the wrong direction with PvP. Thousands of posts detail how, and I think that honestly there is little they can do until GW2 to bring back the top tier PvPers when they know now that GW should be two games...an e-sport and a PvE'ish MMO... in one.

Because most of them left gw already I've seen quit a few people leave on my roster already because of that loot scaling crap. (pardon my french).
Also the 25 armor cap hurts pve more then they ever dreamed of. (How usefull is paragon if i can't buff? )
Anet shouldn't fix what isn't broken, but look at the other aspects.
How about trading nowadays? Just one simple fix could improve it. It's called increase the string length on party search!!!

Oh and btw @OP: you can have this. Happy now?

I love guild wars i started playing 6 months after it came out and haven't stopped since....could the story lines in factions and nightfall have been a little better sure....but hey if you have ever beaten a CAPCOM game you will see what bad story telling really is. No game is perfect no game will ever be perfect.
Just take it for what it is a game.

Most people complain but they are still logging on every day. The majority of people that have quit are gone for good so you won't see them here complaining and such. Most are PvPers from what I've seen with some PvEers leaving since ANet added loot scaling with HM. We begged for HM for all those months and they give it to us with the added bonus of Loot Scaling. Pass the crack please ANet.

Overall I'm more upset when ANet caters to the whiners. Some of the changes over the past couple years have definately made me question what's in ANet's pipe. I'm glad that they listen to their players, but I feel like they've taken it to the extreme at times.

The decline of GW is inevitable. People come and go that's the nature of all MMO's.

Brown nosing is FTW. Gaile Grey gives out Q7 15>50 Crystallines to everyone that makes a positive post like this.

All in all I'm still here and logging daily. It's been a fun ride so far and I look forward to GW2. I remember playing text based MUDS in the good ole days and thinking "a graphical version of this would be awesome!" GW has been the closest thing I've found so far, but oddly enough the MUD I played still had more depth IMHO. Nobody every cried about balance either...

Thanks ANet for 2+ years of great fun. Gaile my IGN is in my profile PM me whenever you want to deliver my Crystalline.

I agree with the OP. Congrats Necromonger

Since may 2005 the only game I bought was Oblivion that I uninstalled after two weeks...........I spent at least two years on Morrowind & the following stands alone. So i save my money playing GW. LOL

Like I said in a previous post, GW is a baby just let it grow up....gently.
Imho Anet's devs are the best on the videogames market, their creativity is awesome & their business model is wise = no monthly fee.

What can we expect for the future? The best & I will be there. For sure Anet is gonna change the flat tyres for brand new ones. So dont worry & send them good vibes
