awesome... and i love the imp on steroids :P
and its cool also the analogy with Pokemon... Gotta get them all is also the motto for Polymoc since we will be able to collect the pieces and there are even some legendary ones
can't wait to get it and can't wait to beat the fireball thrower boss...
and don't know if you noticed but the guy that was playing clicked on a monster while in the boss chamber and it died instantly... i wan't those skillz (i know it was a cheat... never the less... skillz )
burning forest ftw (not the one in FoW)

There is a patch of land near the shiverpeaks located near where Orr was. I believe it to be Orr related.

Orr plus pokemon on steroids FTW!

The People of Orr I believe are reffered to as the Orrian in Guildwars Lore.

Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu ... ?
Wonder if that boss is going to be called Ahihcu this time... (following that Enadiz-style naming convention )
Just hope the fireball won't generate as much lag as Drought's Waterfall on the video card before the last pump is turned off. Otherwise with only that single digit fps there is no way I can possibly maneuver enough to dodge something like that.
I am still waiting for a Sylvari Hero though... Not even a Sylvari NPC was shown.

If your worrying about the fireball.. I guess that burning forest is not for you :P
Besides that, The burning forest was sexy even though the stream was of rather low quality

100 new skills = 100 new skills to be nerfed.
Sad, but true.

I must say, I'm impressed Anet, this is the way to do it. Finally an expansion like I always wanted it which I thought you guys would be doing from the start, more like the MTG model but shaped for an online game. I heard nothing bad in the video. New anti aliasing techniques, new sound techniques, 50 PvE only skills, PvE one on one battles vs. npc's, other mini games, 18 dungeons, new heroes and some new land to discover. The hall of monuments and the connection with GW2 seems promising too. This doesn't change my view on how badly the online shop was marketed and neglected, but that's another topic. I can only give positive feedback on this video.

Sad, but true. naahhhh more like 79 skills to be nerfed.
they dont tend to nerf rangers or dervishes much....
and one skill will probably be something that helps 55 bots, so of course they can't nerf that

I havent read all post so maybe it has already been covered. But at least one of the new PvE skills seems to be in the vids.
Video 2, featuring the brave monk-warrior with the flaming sword. At first he does -2, -3, -4 damage with his sword against the spiders. But when skill number 1 on his bar is pressed, which he does 3 times in a row, he does 999 damage on his strike against foes.
Also he seems to have a very high amount of health and a natural regen, but that might just be for testing purpose.
I think Anet made this vid to tease all the monk solo farmers out there, as you can see a gold item dropping during the middle of the fight.

Unlike Factions and Nightfall, i'm really looking forward to GW:EN.
No new classes but new skills, new equipment and new fantastic landscapes (woods, snowlands and dungeons) is just pure win.

Gaile has demented there being a Orr in GW:EN and apparently the PR-guy got it wrong. I don't know who to believe to be honest.

So a boss that shoots slow moving fireballs of death?
What next, an Old Man who gives you hints?

From what I gather, no. Which makes since... the scenes shown at E3 described as "the Orr continent arising again", were later described by the same guy as Asuran.
It's pretty obvious he screwed up. I hold out hope that they are working on Orr as perhaps bonus content?
Too bad it's not in the bonus missions...

I have a theory!
You know that patch of land just east of where the city was?
I wonder if that'll be one of the last places we visit and something happens, like the rising part, that may be continued in GW2.

I hope the the dungeons will change each time you enter it, therefore its a new challenge each time you enter it.
Echuu Ishtar
It sounds like they won't since the guy was talking about different icons and map markers you can unlock for your mission map. Sounds interesting.
My wish for a Charr hero came true!
The mini-game tournys sound really cool and I'll look forward to them.
I also like how Anet tried promoting Smiting Prayers in the demo.

All they did was prove how useless they are. An Elementalist could have downed that opponent in 10 seconds.

i dont think the engine can handle any sort of randomness in architecture... only in spawns. they may be able to randomize what traps are active, though.

I really dont know why Arena Net keeps promoting Non Warrior Classes using swords and shields
Reference to the various screenshots and the video.

Because maybe the developers don't have as rigid ideas about classes as the general GW populace?
Case in point: the Ele Hammer Build showcased by a developer in PCGamer. He admits it won't win you friends, but claims it's a blast. (and, he adds, looks "epic")
I just made a Ranger/Warrior who charges adrenaline with Bow, and then switches to axe and shield when the enemy gets close. It may not be optimal, but it's fun.

damn, and i was getting my hopes up when the video guy said that dwarves where a playable race... c'mon anet, what's an rpg without an aledrinking dwarf!
scrinner
While they may be fun, I personally wouldn't want a necromancer with a sword running arround fighting off hoardes of incoming enemies. It's happened to me at... wherelse but Vizunah Square. While I apperciate fun, This level of fun should be kept to oneself.
Some people cant see the line between fun and stupidity sometimes. And no... The guy was running pure warrior skills as a necromancer.

Clarification of E3 Messaging
During the E3 presentations in Los Angeles, a lot of great information was shared, but a few errors were made regarding features and elements of Guild Wars: Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2.
We know that players love new information about the game, but we want to make sure that what you have is as accurate as possible. Therefore, here are some clarifications for you:
Dwarves are not a playable race in Guild Wars 2.
The Tarnished Coast is located on the coastal area south of the Maguuma Jungle; it is not at all connected with the Kingdom of Orr, which sank into the sea long ago.
The idea that Orr may someday rise from the depths is interesting, but nothing like that happens in GW:EN.
There are no pit traps in GW:EN.
Players can unlock all missions and all areas, regardless of their reputation with the other races.
There are many ways to improve your reputation with the Norn, Dwarves, Ebon Vanguard, and Asura.
Mini-games are one way to gain reputation, but there are several additional ways for you to gain reputation.
You do not control golems directly, but you can direct them to some degree.

If you see the map for GW:EN, it looks like its part of Tyria. As if they have actually added whole new locations to prophercies?
Instead of a whole new map.

Now I feel suitably teased.
Is it August 31st yet?
How about now?

They didn't do it very well... Smiting can take down a single target much, much faster than that.
Otherwise, bring on August the 31st and the associated Asura-squishing!
