i suggest start by somethign else than drok runs.droks runs are reserved to ppl who are used to weird runs, and know how to run.noy starting run newbies.
it's not enough get the right skill bar and read a guide for proclaim yourself a runner and do runs, especially of levle of drok runs.
start by some easy runs like asclon-sanctum cay, then by training runnin with slow and hexes on you like elona mission run.
for caracter i would say warrior.for skill bar it can be that :
[skill]"Charge!"[/skill][skill]Sprint[/skill][skill]Balanced Stance[/skill][skill]Smite Hex[/skill][skill]Mending Touch[/skill][skill]Healing Signet[/skill][skill]Endure Pain[/skill][skill]Holy Veil[/skill]
Why mending touch over purge conditions?obviously recharge time.and cept bleeding and criple for drok run or criple and poison in other runs you will rarely have more than 2 conditions on you.just trust me i can do any run in game so know my job lol.
Ekipements : any max level armor with radiant insignias/gladior set.
SHield/weapon : +5 energy weapon/ 3 set of shields : +60 when hexed/-3 +45/-2 when in stance and +30 -5/20%.
but mostly the stance one if can only aford one.
Attributes : max tactic, all rest in strenght, if anything left put in protection prayers.

Mission runs make decent money as well, a 55 can be used to farm as well as run ruins of morah mission with a couple heroes. Running a 'standard Mo/D build' with SS or SV hero, the para hero (required) running bip and cetera, and an offense spirit spammer (just damage, no blind) you can make 5k a head with max 20k per mission with a fast (less than 10 minutes per mission) turnaround. I even saw someone offering to run mission only in gates of madness for 10k tonight.... that adds up fast if you can figure out how they do it.
Ranger or Dervish runners pwn in Prophesies. especially now that there are /Dervish secondaries with all the healing/hex removal/kd protection you may need. If you decide to go with warrior though, check out [wiki]Charging Strike[/wiki], [wiki]Signet of Stamina[/wiki] and [wiki]Enraging Charge[/wiki] for obvious reasons.

Runing droks sux now. You get 10k for a hard 20-30min run. Not worth it. Mission running is the way to go know. Just find a mission in a high demand to be ran and devise a build that can run it.

skills that make you go faster (vary pending on profession), skills that prevent knockdown - if KD will be an issue (balanced stance is good for this), skills that remove snares, be they hex or condition related. Armor buffs and self heals are good to. That pretty much sums up every running build.
Rangers, Warriors, Dervishes, Assassins... all can make decent runners. That mesmer speed buff is the suck, don't go near it. Ele speed buffs are ok, but beware enchantment removal. From their I say read the skills and come up with something. Really, that's half the fun.
