PlayNC Customer Support

Could they possibly get any slower? Me and my friend have been awake for well over 24 hours trying to keep her account safe from the hacker that somehow got her password. They took 500k worth of gold, a million worth of minipets, and several pieces of armor. They left some stuff because they must not have been able to hold it all, but wtf? Have been trying to change the password for the account for 2 days now, no help. One email that asked for account details, sent them, no reply since. Nothings changed, the hacker still has 100% access to the account. We are dead tired, but if we go to bed, the hacker has free access to the account. This is ridiculous.

to change the password, goto Edit Account on the character select screen, its in there and is doable very easily..
Also, once added to your plaync account, change the email address on the plaync account so it is different from the guild wars log in... the GW log in then becomes just that, a static log in and is unchangeable, however, if someone knows it and then tries to change the password, the email to change will come through to the new email address you supplied on your account

No, it sends you to PlayNC, which we have an account for, but entering the codes for GW to add it to the account just gives you "Invalid Code".
I don't know, I'm tired

I haven't done it for a while, so I'm gonna go do it again for myself and see whats changed quickly, relax and i'll brb
Edit:
yes, the change password option is now under the Guild wars section of my Plaync account management
try going through the ingame store to add the account to plaync, that should be the quickest way of doing it
Omniclasm
We have used the ingame store before, so I thought it might be linked to that account, because the same person bought us both slots at the same time. However, my account is unlinked, because now it is linked to MY account. For some reason we cannot link her account to anything. I don't know, it's probably lost and hes free to have the account forever.
The ingame store just asks for credit card info when you go to checkout.

Where did the account come from? did you buy the game originally? or did someone give it to you?
oh and if character slots were bought, it is already linked to a plaync account and can't be linked to another

Bought from the store.
But if that was the case, how is my account unlinked now?

Changing password really isn't that hard.
Login on your Guild Wars account -> Edit Account -> Change Password -> Click link to PlayNC Account -> Login -> Game Accounts -> Guild Wars -> Change Password
You might first want to know how that hacker got your friend's password though. If he uses a keylogger it won't be hard to hack it again after you change your password.
Oh yeah, and he might not know your friend's PlayNC password, so he can't change her Guild Wars password. So don't change your Guild Wars password before you're sure he doesn't use a keylogger, or he'll also be able to read your PlayNC password and hack it.

or they got someone to buy the games for them throught eh store, and that person still has the account login info
Milennin
So, that means she can safely change her password through PlayNC.

A few days ago I bought CoH and messed up. The PlayNC support were really helpful and got the matter fixed in less than a day, which is incredible.
Sorry for the bad luck

If it comes up with invalid code when you tried to add the code to your playNC account, it either is 1) Invalid, IE: typed it wrong or 2) The codes already been linked to a playNC account, if you've never, gone to the ingame store and registered or linked to your account on playNC, then maybe the hacker linked the account to your game.

Little off topic but:
"PlayNC Customer Support" is that an Oxymoron?

I believe another possibility is that the database the PlayNC spport team accesses only contains those keys that are issued from their online store or the in-game store... not the access keys that are issued for retail boxed games.
An oversight maybe?
I love the team at A-Net. I don't feel the same toward the PlayNC support team, however. Because of my own experience with them and the experience of others I've read on this board, I believe their weakness lies in 'connecting the dots.' And unless you 'connect the dots' it just is not going to work.

You just need any one of your acct keys to tie the plaync master acct to your GW acct. Using the 'Use a serial code' button will create and tie the in game acct from the plaync account management screen. Just add one key (make sure you click the 25 number GW key button), you don't need to have all of them. I've got 2 accts tied to the same plaync master acct and they only have one 'retail' key for each but are both fully 'loaded' accts.

I think I'd better try to add mine then tonight when I get home from work... since that seems to be a major cause of delay for everyone trying to regain their accounts from hackers.
Thanks for the tip! I was checking it out because I'm looking for all the things I can do to protect myself from hackers. Any other tips? Any one? Wait... I'll open a thread for hacker protection tips.

You can also add a second in game acct to the same plaync master acct the same way. The 'EDIT ACCT' and change password *only works AFTER you've tied the game acct to plaync*.

Oh wait. I read it wrong... because my game account IS tied to my PlayNC master account. I had to do that to make a purchase in the in-game store. I have already changed my game account password to make it more difficult to guess. But none of my retail boxed access key codes are listed in the game account. Only the access codes for the things I bought in in the in-game store are listed, and I believe the people who are having so much trouble and getting responses of "invalid" when they try to enter an access key are entering store bought access keys. So it's because they don't have their game account tied to a PlayNC master account then?

anything is possible with plaync.com... lol
If the OP's friend logs into the store with her acct it *should* link it to something at plaync, the question is what though. You might be able to tie her acct to her plaync acct just by using the in game store and giving it the plaync master acct name, but I can't be sure without an unlinked game acct to test with.
Even if the plaync acct doesnt list the games you have on the acct, when you log into the *in game* store, it knows what you have. I only have prophecies on my plaync master for one acct, but when I go to the in game store it lists all campaigns as already purchased in red. It knows... somewhere.... heh
