Ok we all view inflation as a bad thing right? But some cases, like America and England inflation actually helps people. I'm thinking like a system (sap some people from the graphics tech and put them to work for once since they haven't had a real job in seven months) that actually causes all the merchants and such (not just dye and rune traders) to increase or decrease the prices on wears based on the number of players that actually buy the item (if 25 people buyed gray dye in a day it would drop in price, if a salvage kit was bought 533 times in a day it would increase in price.) that way it helps control how much players charge for certain items (the less green items players sell the less salvage kits bought and therefore the less salvage kits cost).
Btw I know this system will need to be tweaked a bit to prevent overinflation or underinflation (max/min limit to the cost of items) but if you at least support the basic concept plz sign. IF you all out hate this idea then just post unsigned, don't tell everything that's wrong with it in extreme detail because that just bores me.

Please provide detail on such a system other than the trader NPCs. Also tell us how you plan to avoid having this disadvantage new players.
Actually, also tell us how inflation will help Guild Wars. Yes I know that countries do benefit from low positive inflation rates, but I don't see how that follows into guild wars because all characters already have jobs.

Well the way it would seriously benefit us is by controlling the rates that other players charge for green, purple, and gold items. The more people who are buying them are going to go and buy expert or superior salvage kits. When those increase in price enough people stop buying green items and salvage kits altogether, so players will need to lower their prices to lure people into buying more green purple or gold items. This will pretty much come into affect with most items except dye. And to explain it fully I'd need fifteen more pages of code. That's why I said sap people from the graphics team to make this system. the code doesn't take much scripting knowledge but I don't want people taken off Eye of the North.

But if they stop buying one item, that will mean they have more gold to spend, which will push the prices of other items up.
Oh and making salvage kits more expensive will also make weapon mods and runes more expensive, because it costs more to extract them.

Then once you have explained this, you can then tell us the actual algorithm you plan to use.

Well I for one hate to spend hours in a town or outpost just to try to sell some stuff. So for that reason it would be very nice if they put in some more specialized traders like for example a weapons trader who would give you a reasonable amount of gold for it( just like the dyetrader).
And a trader that would give good prices for good weaponsmods also because now you get for all mods just 25 gold no matter how good the mod is. And ofcourse I can try selling them to other players but except for the +30 hp mods, most mods are almost impossible to sell. Well that goes if you don't wanna spend hours trying to sell stuff.
These are just a few idea's but I think that these are suggestions that I think alot of people would like to see being realized.
