from offical wiki Clarification of E3 Messaging During the E3 presentations in Los Angeles, a lot of great information was shared, but a few errors were made regarding features and elements of Guild Wars: Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2. We know that players love new information about the game, but we want to make sure that what you have is as accurate as possible. Therefore, here are some clarifications for you: Dwarves are not a playable race in Guild Wars 2. The Tarnished Coast is located on the coastal area south of the Maguuma Jungle; it is not at all connected with the Kingdom of Orr, which sank into the sea long ago. The idea that Orr may someday rise from the depths is interesting, but nothing like that happens in GW:EN. There are no pit traps in GW:EN. Players can unlock all missions and all areas, regardless of their reputation with the other races. There are many ways to improve your reputation with the Norn, Dwarves, Ebon Vanguard, and Asura. Mini-games are one way to gain reputation, but there are several additional ways for you to gain reputation. You do not control golems directly, but you can direct them to some degree |
what is the Ebon Vanguard

I'd imagine they could be the Charr that you team up with, although I'm not sure at all. Just stabbing wildly in the dark

HawkofStorms
Hmm... never noticed that. Yeah it could be the Charr. OR, it could be the humans, possibily of Ascolan (pretty sure the Sylvians won't be a faction, but will just be mentioned).
Delta_24
Yeah, could possibly be a human faction. Definitely won't be Sylvari, as they only appear in Tyria due to the Destroyer's destruction, or so I've heard.
Coridan
i just didn't know if there was any info out there or not...i guess we may have to wait and find out

Mournblade
I'll add my vote to the Charr.
Onarik Amrak
I reckon Ascalonians. Cause vanguard means advance forces.
Probably these guys:

I'm further starting to lean towards humans. It sounds like a NPC guild name (like Ascalon's Chosen).
Duaric
Ebon Vanguard might possibly be a spider race. Maguuma spiders drop ebon items.
Etta
My guess is that they are humans, Ascalon special force sent deep in to the Charr's territory. They're sound pretty catchy, aren't they. Almost as good as the Flaming Fist.
populationcontrol
isnt ebon earth related in current guild wars?
Coridan
yeah i think ebon does earth damage...maybe it has to do with the asura or dwarves...but i really like the human advance party...maybe they are the first to use the caverns(dungeons) to strike deep within the enemies lands...
Mister_Smiley
Ebon Vanguard, i beleive that they are the Vanguard which are a group of humans that works for the king, also known as the The Ascalon Vanguard, but are now known as Ebon Vanguard, just an idea.
