Kurzick and Luxon "Final Battle" before GW2?
LumpOfCole
As Factions is my favorite campaign, one of the aspects of GW2 I'm hoping to exist is the "aftermath" of the Kurzick/Luxon struggle.
I think that there should be a future event weekend or week with a series of "deciding" battles between Luxon and Kurzick forces that decide the fate of the one of the two as victors in the future time period that GW2 takes place

The war is over. They joined forces to defeat Shiro, and stop the Afflicted. Surely you must have finished Eternal Grove and/or Gyala Hatchery?

Cool idea. Though I have this vain hope that the two factions would be able to peacefully resolve their conflicts. *lol* Yep, I'm a hippie.

well for one they teamd up at the end, so its hard to say if they are even enemies anymore.
and two having one being victor over the other would be horrible, not to mention the loseing faction getting horribly upset. its just a bad idea alltogether.
though I would like to see each chapter get a litle expanded similar to how eye of the north adds maps to tyria.

I think he or she was talking from the PvP point of view.
LumpOfCole
I was under the impression that that particular alliance was purely temporary to destroy Shiro.

they have plenty to fight over....i was sneaking around the divine path after killing shiro and if you wait approximately 3 hours and 37 minutes you will hear this.
Luxons and Kurzicks: wooooo shiro is dead...yeah woo...
Luxon: well we helped the most
Kurzick: Nuh uuuuuuuuuh we did....yall just sat around with your fat turtles nuking stuff every minute or so AT best.
Luxon: yeah well....i slept with your mom
Kurzick: no you didnt!
Luxon: yes i did....you know what they say once you go luxon youll like the butt sex. our ancestors werent very good at rhyming >_>
Kurzick: ok its on!
(and thus we still have AB)

That would be very cool... just make it some way so that good AB players end up deciding it, not touch ranger teams...

As far as I remember the luxons and kurzicks agree "terms" with the Canthan Empire every year or every so often at least for their war. It was devised so that neither side would ever become stronger than the other and a possible threat to the empire.
Unless they get wiped out with the rest of the human race (that will be near extinction in GW2) they will still be enemies.

It's a war! Losing faction SHOULD be pissed off, especially if the event could have used more of their input

Luxon/Kurzick arguments in outposts are already stupid enough as it is without giving anyone anything to be really arrogant or butthurt over.

That would be very interesting... House zu Heltzer or Cavalon being taken over, with the victorious side turning against the empire, destroying the empire in GW2 and replacing it with a kurzick or luxon nation...
And for people who are worried about feelings hurt... if your feelings are hurt because a fictional nation lost a fictional war, I suggest you get... SOMETHING important in your life that actually matters... I am kurzick but no way will I be all pissed off if the Luxons won the war... who cares, the 11 year olds who technically shouldn't be playing anyway as you need to be a certain age to play?

Everybody who claims the war is over has clearly not paid attention to the NPC banter in Divine Path after you defeat Shiro. Its clearly implied that the war begins again.

I would like to see a final battle series if thats possible with new maps of course.

I think the point was that the Kurzicks and the Luxons were two equal sides in a civil war in Cantha. One wasn't supposed to be more powerful over the other (at least for very long) or win the battle. Besides, you buy 'Guild Wars: Factions' for a reason. It'd suck if they were no longer factioned, but everybody got along.
If they want to resolve the battle, it should be in Guild Wars 2 story line.

Or in the next Expansion thats for Cantha
It could be the mission path or same as these multi-level dungeons where (i assume) it gets much harder each level

id like to see a semi climatical battle of somesort that lets u know which side really wins, ironically though with the lil backround we are gettin on gw2 it seems that NO one wins the wars... we are too busy trying to Vanquish the areas and its obvious u die while tryin to do so... it s like knowing the eding to the movie ' TITANIC" u know its gonna sink by the end of the movie ur just waitin for the climatical and small pts to be made before finally a relief its over.

It's funny how they've been warring for so many years, always agreed terms and as far as we know neither side broke it. There must be reasons why.
Takuna
I think they're very immature to keep on fighting... On the other hand, we can get faction with war.
HuntMaster Avatar
Alliance battles massive armies, not just 8 man groups. 16 man groups for insane war!
now that would be a factions finale.
